“I have just ordered Homeland Security to step up our already Extreme Vetting Program. Being politically correct is fine, but not for this!” Trump said, hours after a man driving a pickup truck killed eight people.

This IS something that Pres. Obama did.

All three of my sons in law are naturalized citizens and the vetting was beyond extreme!

You might also notice that there are no Former Soviet Union states on the "Muslim Ban".

Extreme vetting should have been implemented by George W. Bush, after 9/11/01. Also, when Ronald Reagan became President, on Jan. 20, 1981, he stated in his inaugural speech that "there would be swift justice against terrorists". Yet, in his eight years, outside of one bombing against Libya, he did bupkis, as far as terrorism was concerned.

Shouldn't there also be some substantive policy reaction to domestic mass shootings, especially since their toll tremendously higher?

Nah, that simply ain't politically popular...I mean, foreigners are valuable as scapegoats and policy targets. Automatic weapons, gun enthusiasts, the NRA are not...I mean, for crying out loud, they're all Trump/GOP loyalists.

Also...can one of you please define what is "extreme vetting," other than an undefined call for restrictions.
