“Shabbat is becoming the day of the national renovation of Israel Railways and this constitutes a serious violation of Jewish tradition and the status quo,” said Litzman, who heads the Agudat Yisrael faction of the United Torah Judaism party,
Representatives of Litzman, Netanyahu and Transportation Minister Haim Katz were in contact to find a solution to the rail works.
Litzman made it clear to Netanyahu that he was serious about his intention to resign if railway works are carried out on the Sabbath.
Israel Railways said they would act according to government directives
Earlier this month, the Likud and the ultra-Orthodox parties agreed to promote a bill that would obligate the Labor Ministry to “take Jewish tradition into account” before allowing work on the Sabbath.
Remarkable. Bibi is delivering Israeli to people like this.
Nisht gezorgt, he won’t resign. No matter what happens. They will minimize the Chilul Shabbos a bit, and all will be fine.
Shame on u LItzman! A chareidi like u sitting in a heretic secular govt. No diffrnce if they are mechallel shabos or not. They trample on our holy Torah evey day. What does a shomer torah umitzvohs find in a treifene kenesset?? Oiwftzeteen? Leave it to H! We dont need ur help. ALL the Keneset did till now was exactly the opposite of what our true values of the Torah are. All a sham and a shame to work with goyim gemirim in a environment that spites real jews. What a disgust!
Whats Shabos for the Zionists? U only found out today that its a joke?? Took u quite long Litzman. The grave question is on you, not on them. Theyre secular Zionists that dont give a hoot to Yiddishkeit and u know ot. No news to anyone
