News 12 (http://bit.ly/2An5iQn) reported that Michael Perez Rodriguez turned himself in to Monticello police on Tuesday night, hours after the Town of Wallkill Police Department released mall surveillance videos from the Galleria at Crystal Run showing a person of interest in the shooting walking with a woman and two small children.

At a press conference held at the Town of Wallkill Police Department this afternoon, authorities announced that Perez Rodriguez had been charged with reckless endangerment and misdemeanor assault. Perez Rodriguez, who has a legal concealed carry permit for both New York and Pennsylvania, pleaded not guilty at his arraignment.

While Perez Rodriguez has been cooperating with authorities, the judge expressed concern about his having fled the scene of the crime and significantly altering his appearance since the incident by shaving off his moustache and beard. He was remanded to the Orange County Jail on $2,500 cash bail, $5,000 bond.

As previously reported on VIN News (http://bit.ly/2Ao28M6), the Galleria at Crystal Run was evacuated after a gun discharged on Sunday afternoon, hitting the floor outside the second floor American Eagle Outfitters store. According to the Times Herald Record (http://bit.ly/2AnDnje) a shopper from Goshen and her 12 year old son were injured by what police later determined were fragments from either the single bullet or broken floor tiles.
