Frankfurt - Special Counsel Robert Mueller has asked Deutsche Bank

to share data on accounts held by U.S. President Donald Trump and his family, a person close to the matter said on Tuesday.

Germany’s largest bank received a subpoena from Mueller several weeks ago to provide information on certain money and credit transactions, the person added, confirming a report by German daily Handelsblatt published on Tuesday.

Deutsche Bank, which has loaned the Trump organization millions of dollars for real estate ventures, said it would not comment on any of its clients.

Deutsche Bank rejected demands in June by U.S. House Democrats to provide details of Trump’s finances, citing privacy laws.

Mueller is investigating alleged Russian attempts to influence the 2016 U.S. presidential election and potential collusion by Trump aides.

Russia has denied meddling in the election and Trump has said there was no collusion.

The crux of the matter is this president needs to read the constitution. Even a billionaire president is not above the law.

You have no way of knowing that...your comment is knee jerk and decidedly uneducated.

If you had been following NPR and the other news sources you claim to be following, you would know that the Russian collusion investigation is looking into alleged Trump investments in Russian businesses with ties to Putin and his family.

Hahahahahahahah!!! You alleging somone is partisan...that's rich!

This investigation is about Trump...and no one else. Your "...what about the other guy..." comment is an age old diversionary tactic, ducking the subject at issue, and now being used wholesale by Trump and all his loyal little Trumpies.

Let Jeff Sessions do it. What's stopping him. If you think you can prosecute her, you have a Republican running the Justice Department. You don't need a special prosecutor.

I guess I missed that . I got stuck on the john hockenbery news .yesterday's Brian Lehrer show was quite amusing.
The takeaway was a show dedicated toward inclusion and diversity and they even had a disabled man as their host . How PC and lovely . And yet john was the same animal as Moore. So I got caught up in that fun .

But honestly , Trump may have had ties to ruskies . But they has nothing to do with this "fake " collusion charge . The opposition research conducted by Trump was simply something all candidates do on the opponent . No connection to Russian investments unless your goal is what Simply to bring down the president because he didn't disclose some obscure Russian investment.
Laughable

So then what would DB records show? That he invested in Russian companies? How would that prove collusion in the election? If he was investing in Russia, I would certainly expect to see money going from his accounts to Russian companies.

Our founders made the impeachment vague ... on purpose.

Both Nixon and Clinton's 'articles of impeachment' included obstruction of justice.

As a long-time listener to The Takeaway, I listened to last night's show with interest.

I hope it's not lost on you that the show, broadcast by WNYC, presented a robust investigation by their own reporters and staff, disclosing both Hockenberry's behavior and the station's less than robust reaction to allegations about that behavior. No BS calling the accusations "fake news" like certain people do.

And as to the Russian allegations, you still cannot admit that you simply have no way of knowing what is the basis the Deutsch Bank subpoenas. Your grammatically challenged comment "...[b]ut they has nothing to do with this 'fake' collusion charge..." has no basis in published fact...it's just you pontificating.

The basis for a subpoena like this would be prosecutors' belief that the information sought would be relevant to resolving questions raised in the course of their investigation.

Here, there have been allegations, unsupported in the public space thus far, that business run by Trump and his children have received substantial investments from Russian businesses tied to Putin, that as a result Trump has financial interests inconsistent with the interests of the United States....and that explain at least in part Trump's very public praise and near adulation of Putin.

You mean like fox news who fired Roger Alies?

I am not a Moore fan.

Besides, this scandal is after all the other liberals went down. I wonder how WNYC would have reacted had they been the first. And they were suppose to be that beacon of morality , diversity and champion of women's rights. For this to happen at their turf is both sad and laughable.

Your are correct. That's why Meuller is schlepping this out until the midterm elections when a lot more Democrats are going to be elected. Then Agent Orange will be impeached and fitted with prison orange.

Not to mention the Kompromat material the former KGB dictator most certainly has on Agent Orange.

Did Fox present a 2-hour broadcast, with public call-ins, interviewing affected staff and excoriating their own management. I didn't think so.

This is not a partisan issue...I think Conyers' decision to resign was overdue, for example, and I think the book on Bill Clinton needs to be reopened...whenever this sort of behavior is swept under the rug or ignored, it's grossly bad behavior.

In that vein, what the GOP is doing supporting Moore is disgusting...and frum Yidden who ignore or downplay the many allegations against Trump are morally untethered hypocrites.

HOW ? ???
PUT TERM LIMITS ON CONGRESS,ESPECIALLY THE SENATE, SO THESE LIFETIME POLITICAL HACKS HAVE NO CHANCE OF DETERMINING POLICY LONG-TERM,AND CANNOT CONTROL IMPORTANT SENATE COMMITTEES BECAUSE OF THEIR "SENIORITY"
IF PEOPLE LIKE SCHUMER AND NADLER REALIZE THAT THEY WILL EVENTUALLY ALSO HAVE TO EAT FROM THE SAME DISHES AS THE VOTERS AND HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE REAL WORLD AND WORK FOR A LIVING LIKE THE REST OF US THEY WOULD ACT AND VOTE DIFFERENTLY

Fox was the first to go. Thats very different as being the 10th one.

Second WNYC only did the call in because they knew they were doomed if not.
Not to justify Fox's behavior, but WNYC was the emperor with no cloths. Their whole existence is based on diversity and womans rights. Of course they were forced to do it. But the fact that such a station and the shpitz diversty show on the shpitz diversity station allowed its producer to act that way is alone very hypocritical. And to top it off, complaints were filled for a while already, and callers claim it was obvious from Hockenyberry's style and ego for years. including his constant interruption of women on air. And Walker the CEO did no justice for herself on the BL show today.

Re Trump we don't support his actions. We downplay it because what did he do already if accused. Most of his accusers claim he groped or abused. That's bad but it ain't the level of pedophile's that Moore is accused of

Your comment is an example of exactly the point. The official excuse for the investigation is Russian interference in the election. That means investigating any Clinton connection as well. The very fact that you can even boldly state this is investigation is about Trump shows how clear it is that the investigation is a political ploy against the Republicans.

That may be true, but Agent Orange is far, far worse. The chances of nuclear war with NK is a lot greater with the pretender in the White House.
