Frankfort, KY - A Republican lawmaker in Kentucky facing sexual assault allegations has committed suicide.

Bullitt County Sheriff Donnie Tinnell says Rep. Dan Johnson shot himself Wednesday on a bridge in Mount Washington, Kentucky. Tinnell confirmed the death to WDRB-TV  in Louisville.

The 57-year-old Johnson was elected to the state legislature in 2016. On Monday, the Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting published an account from a woman saying Johnson sexually assaulted her in the basement of his home in 2013. Louisville police investigated the matter but closed the case and did not file charges.

Johnson told reporters Tuesday the accusations were “totally false.” He posted a message on Facebook Monday night saying that PTSD was “is a sickness that will take my life, I cannot handle it any longer. It has won this life, BUT HEAVEN IS MY HOME.”

My bro Munch says that while people can influence another person to commit suicide, the responsibility ultimately falls on the perpetrator.

Relentless nonsense? Really? What if it was your wife? Your daughter?
Just because your man Moore's inability to keep it in his pants cost him a senate seat doesn't make it "relentless nonsense".
And by the way, your man Trump is not out if the woods, either.
(It's amazing and quite disconcerting how even a lightweight like Gillibrand can get under his skin. Putin, Kim, the Ayatollahs, et al., are taking notes)

Police don't make determinations of guilt or innocence. They investigate the evidence for prosecutors to use in making a decision to indict or (if insufficient or conflicting evidence) not indict. Just because a person isn't indicted or found guilty doesn't mean he didn't commit a crime.

This was the guy who claimed to have established and run his own private morgue at the World Trade Center site. He did not. He seems to have suffered from mental health issues.

This madness has to stop, and the presumption of innocence must be reasserted.

BTW, the "Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting" that started the witchhunt states the following about their founding on their website: "The initiative is the creation of Louisville Public Media, a nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation that operates three public radio stations, including 89.3 WFPL News, a full-time NPR affiliate."

So, they were created by NPR, a leftist taxpayer-supported media company, in order to hound conservatives... That's the left's new line of attack.

The only solution is to join the growing number of Americans who tune out the Fake Media.

My bro Munch says the presumption of innocence is for the court of law but is not owed outside the court of law.

Obviously, the man had a lot of personal angst, but I wonder how his accuser feels, knowing she is partly responsible for his death. On second thoughts, she's probably too busy counting the money she got for accusing him.

This has to stop now.

You guys support the death penalty because it deters crime, right? Okay, so let's make suicide a crime punishable by death. Problem solved!
