In a statement, the U.S. Mission to the United Nations said that the U.N.’s 2018-2019 budget would be slashed by over $285 million. The mission said reductions would also be made to the U.N.’s management and support functions.
The announcement didn’t make clear what effect the budget reduction will have on the U.S. contribution.
U.S. ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley said that the “inefficiency and overspending” of the organization is well-known, and she would not let “the generosity of the American people be taken advantage of or remain unchecked.”
She also said that while the mission was pleased with the results of budget negotiations, it would continue to “look at ways to increase the U.N.’s efficiency? while protecting our interests.”

not enough. and move the damn u.n. away from the u.s.a.
Once again, in contrast with the lies and distortions about our great president that we constantly hear from the libtards here (yonasonw and co,, hashomer, maven, yamsar…) as well as the fake news, Mr. Trump is KEEPING yet another promise! And he will continue to slash funds from the anti Israel UN, as he promised. Thank you to the best and most courageous president of America ever!
Yup you all mocked presdient Trump when he said there would be consequences for voting against us.
Finally a president with a backbone!

Yes, we need to cut spending. After Obummer put us in the trillion deficit. Now, we can start building the wall. NY fixed up LGA airport, now we need to work on a new bridge or tunnel leading into and out of NYC. these old roads are a disaster.
And when Clinton left office the US had a surplus
Just to clarify…. the budget that was just passed, it is expected to increase the deficit by 1 and a half trillion dollars over the next 10 years…. so much for fiscal responsibility. Our grandchildren will have to deal with it.
$285m is a nice start. Hopefully, next year it could be doubled.
