New York – It may fly hundreds of passengers per day from the metropolitan area to Tel Aviv, but a lawsuit filed today in Brooklyn federal court by four flight attendants from New York is charging Delta Air Lines with hostile anti-Semitic behaviors.

As first reported by TMZ (http://bit.ly/2CxTDiC), the lawsuit charges Delta with “a pattern of intentionally discriminating and retaliating against ethnically Jewish, Hebrew and/or Israel employees and passengers” on the New York to Tel Aviv route.
One of the four flight attendants who was fired from her job last March said that she was terminated because she was Jewish, although Delta claimed it was because she missed a flight. The woman said that she had been granted leave from her job for a medical emergency under the federal Family and Medical Leave Act.
A non-Jewish flight attendant said that after sharing a travel companion pass, an employee perk, with a Jewish friend, she was suspended without pay, demoted and stripped of her travel privileges.
According to the suit, Delta justified its actions by saying she didn’t know the person she had given the pass to, while the flight attendant insisted that the man was a forty year-long friend.
The plaintiffs described the Israel-bound flight as being routinely “hostile” and “intimidating” and said that they were passed up for deserved promotions.
The NY Daily News (http://nydn.us/2CxhNd8) reported that the lawsuit also charges the higher ups at Delta view Jewish and Israeli passengers and employees as people “who cannot be trusted, are aggressive and inappropriate,” while prayer services and kosher meal requests are viewed as “‘strange’ behaviors.”
The four employees who filed the suit have been with Delta from 10 to 40 years each. They are suing for damages over alleged illegal discrimination and the reinstatement one flight attendant’s job and another’s travel privileges.
A statement issued by the airline said that Delta intends to fight the lawsuit, noting “As a global airline that brings people across the world together every day, Delta values diversity in all aspects of its business and has zero tolerance for discrimination.”
What’s wrong with sitting in a plane with a plastic bad over your head, or blocking the passage way when we doven with a minyan and of course can’t move during shemonah esrah, or we don’t want to sit next to a woman? Normal behaviour.
Don’t be ridiculous.
If Delta would take a little time to educate their personel it might help a bit. But I am afraid that their personel at least some of them, do not want to be educated! (Sorry about the spelling error, too sleepy!)
