The officials say Congress is being notified of the impending move on Friday. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson signed off on the security plan for the new embassy on Thursday.

The officials weren’t authorized to discuss the plan publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

A ribbon-cutting is being planned for mid-May. Israel proclaimed independence on May 14, 1948.

The May opening marks a significant acceleration. Vice President Mike Pence had said previously the embassy would open by the end of 2019. And Tillerson had said it could take years.

Initially, the embassy will consist of just a few offices inside an existing U.S. facility in Jerusalem.

President Donald Trump says moving the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem is “the right thing to do.”

Trump’s addressing his decision to move the embassy from Tel Aviv at the Conservative Political Action Conference. He says foreign countries put pressure on him not to move the embassy and begged him, “Don’t do it, don’t do it.”

Trump says the campaign against moving the embassy was “incredible.” But he says the campaign in favor of moving the embassy was also incredible.

Trump says that ultimately, his administration “did the right thing.”

Proving the naysayers wrong once again. Amazing what he has accomplished in such a short period of time, while Obama accomplished practically nothing other than the failed Obamacare in 8 years.

This is clear proof (not that smart and honest people needed it) that Pres. Trump is a person who knows right from wrong, who knows terrorist from innocent victim, and who is a true friend to Israel and Jews everywhere. This is a mist courageous step, something every single president before him was too cowardly to carry out after lying in campaign promises to do so. Pres. Trump is the first I can remember to actually keep his campaign promises, and not only that, but to do so this early in his presidency. He is a man of his word, a fighter for what’s right, for the safety of Americans before the rights of terrorists and terror regimes (as obama y’s was). I’ve never in my wildest dreams imagined while voting for this man that he could even do half the great things he’s already done. G-d bless him and keep him safe. He is truly MAGA.

You can be sure you won’t be hearing yoni or hashish hashomer commenting on this, or any of the other tremendous successes of this president. Snowflakes are unforgiving sore losers and too blinded by hate to be able to acknowledge truth. Sad.

Hope Bibi ( as Israel’s leader ) gets to see it, after all, he was highly instrumental in getting it there.

Sad day for emese REAL yidden that know that the embassy move is a oure political act and has nothing with Judaism at all. We wont benefit an iota that the Israelis have won politically. It only increased antisemitism all over the world. The Israelis and all u Zionists here are happy but the move will never benefit a single Jew ANYWHERE. Quite the contrary.
