Police in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, say it appears the vehicle hit the wire, which sparked a fire that engulfed the car at about 9 a.m. Thursday.

The victim’s name was not immediately made public.

The area received about 2 feet of snow during this week’s storm.

A police spokesman says the department doesn’t have the personnel to post an officer at every hazard, and in the case of a downed wire it blocks off the area and alerts the power company.

Police have warned residents to stay off the roads while snow is plowed. There are reports of downed power lines throughout Bergen County.

To #1 . Mai Nafka Mina? Your namesake, Yosef Hatzadik, refrained from having children during the famine, because people ( regardless of their practice of Avoida Zara) were suffering. Chazal tell us that when punishment comes to the world, it is a sign for us to do Teshuva, not to indulge our baser macabre curiosity.

Oy Vay Yossi. If your doing Teshuva depends on whether a yid or a goy was killed, you are in deeper trouble than you know.
