The California Highway Patrol says someone pushed the 35-pound (16-kilogram), basketball-sized rock off a freeway overpass in Pasadena late Tuesday, sending it smashing through the windshield.

Twenty-three-year-old Christopher Lopez, who was in the passenger seat of the Toyota driven by his wife, was killed.

Guadalupe Gutierrez was unhurt, as was their 4-year-old daughter in the back seat.

Gutierrez fought back tears Thursday as she asked for potential witnesses to come forward.

The highway patrol says investigators believe someone purposefully pushed the boulder into westbound lanes of State Route 134.

Catch the perp and remove the limb that caused this unnecessary and vile savage killing.

There was a case in Ohio in 1986, where two perpetrators (one was on leave from the U.S. Army), also through a boulder off an overpass, onto a highway, causing a car to become disabled. Then, the perps walked over to the disabled car (two women were inside), and pretended to assist them. Unfortunately, they assaulted, and beat them to death. It took twenty three years, but the older perp was finally executed by the State of Ohio, in 2009. Even in his final moments, that piece of garbage engaged in obscenity. He showed absolutely no contrition for what he and his friend did.
