Philadelphia accountant Greg Piatek claims the staff of The Happiest Hour in Manhattan said he wasn’t welcome because he and his friends supported the Republican president after they complained of rude service.

He sued the West Village bar claiming the incident “offended his sense of being American.”

A judge on Wednesday tossed the lawsuit saying the law doesn’t protect against political discrimination.

The bar’s lawyer pointed out that only religious beliefs are protected under state and city laws, saying that “supporting Trump is not a religion.”

Piatek’s lawyer told The New York Post he’ll decide on whether or not to appeal.

“supporting Trump is not a religion.”

Game of semantics. To quote from a web site:

    > The U.S. Supreme Court has defined “religious belief” as a belief that is: “religious” in the employee’s own scheme of things and sincerely held by the employee. Thus, the law’s protection extends beyond “traditional” religions.

The example given was a vegetarian (Bruce Anderson) who refused to hand out his employer’s coupons for meat-hamburgers.

Was he refused service? According to one source, “The Happiest Hour shot back in court saying that despite Piatek’s claims, they had receipts saying that the man spent nearly $190 at the bar — and left an approximately 20 percent tip.” I think there’s some important information missing here. According to what we are reading, the man sued claiming he was refused service because he wore a Trump hat. The bar replied that they had the right to do so, which is what the judge found. However, they may have thrown him out for disorderly conduct or some other reason; they just chose to attack his suit on the merits of what he argued.

Ok guys let me do some number crunching,

There are 8 pen names above ( thru comment 12)

Four out of the eight (50%) are anti Trumpiots.

According to the NYT Trump won 70% of frum jewish distrcits and Hillary 25%. ( I suspect if you count the Latino’s and others in the district its more like 80% frum jews). Yet here on VIN it’s so far 50%

Furthermore, the commentators above don’t comment every day. Yet they all converge under one news article.

    Doesn’t smell fishy to anyone?

VIN please put a stop to these Russian Fake news Facebook like tricksters.

    Thanks
