Police said that the attack took place at approximately 8:33 this morning near 72nd Road and Kissena Boulevard. The 52 year old victim had sustained trauma to her face and body was found unconscious in the bottom of an outdoor stairwell next to a garden apartment building, just down the block from Aron’s Kissena Farms.
WABC News (https://7ny.tv/2FudgFS) reported that the woman had just dropped off a child at a nearby school before the attack occurred. Police from the 107th Precinct who responded to a 911 call discovered the badly beaten woman at 150-40 72nd Road. According to PIX 11(http://bit.ly/2FvzDe5), the attack was said to be “very violent” and the victim was transported by EMS to a nearby hospital where she remains in critical condition.
Police blocked off 72nd Road for several hours today but have no description of the suspect at this time.
Chief Dermot F. Shea, who began as the NYPD’s chief of detectives just days ago, tweeted a warning to anyone in the area to “remain vigilant” and to report any suspicious activity.
Kew Gardens Hills resident Zev Baker, who lives near the crime scene, said that there are many young Orthodox Jewish couples who live in the apartment complex that dots the area, which is patrolled by a private security firm.
“I walk there a few times a week,” Baker told VIN News. “I can’t believe that this happened in our neighborhood under the eyes of security personnel.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Crime Stoppers Hotline by phone at 800-577-TIPS, by text at 247637 (CRIMES) and then entering TIP577 or online at www.NYPDCrimeStoppers.com.
I take it that the woman who was attacked was NOT Jewish? Is this correct?
It was done by an illegal Latino, but remember nyc is a sanctuary city and crime is “falling”.
Black or white, Jew or gentile, security should be tight for everyone – be on your guard! It doesn’t matter who lives in the area, this is a shocking crime. Wishing this poor woman complete healing from the physical and emotional violence.
broad daylight !!!!queens buildings where are your cameras ????? lets wait for some more facts
It’s about time that New Yorkers wake up and realize that New York is a cesspool and leave it to the illegal aliens who will flood this sanctuary city. This is what you get when you elect such incompetents as Comrade deBlasio and worthless Andy Cuomo. If you stay there stop complaining and enjoy the downfall.
