Queens, NY – Hoping to apprehend the person responsible for the brutal attack on a 52 year old Queens woman on Monday morning near a kosher supermarket, the NYPD is turning to the public for assistance identifying a person of interest in the case.

Photos and video released Tuesday tonight by the NYPD show a man dressed in a black hooded jacket, red baseball cap, red pants and black sneakers, repeatedly looking over his shoulder as a small yellow school bus drives by. Police said that the footage was obtained from nearby surveillance cameras and that they had no further information on the incident at this time.
CBS News (https://cbsloc.al/2jjElTE) reported that the woman, who was beaten beyond recognition, was not alert enough to give police any description of the suspect. The attack is believed to be random at this time.
Members of the Kew Gardens Hills Facebook group have been sharing their thoughts on the incident in the normally quiet neighborhood, with many calling it frightening.
A bulletin from the nearby Dara Gardens apartments that was obtained by VIN News identified the victim as a complex resident and advised walking in groups for greater safety. Residents were also told not to let any unknown persons onto the gated property and to contact police to report any suspicious behavior.
Queens Shmira, which will be increasing patrols in the area, also advised Kew Gardens Hills residents to exercise extreme caution, warning anyone who felt like they were being followed to call 911, or to shout for help if they had no phone.
