Trump made the assertion during an interview aired over the weekend with Mike Huckabee, on the former Republican governor of Arkansas’ talk show on the TBN Christian network. The interview took place at the White House on June 18.

“I tell you what, I get more calls of thank you from evangelicals, and I see it in the audiences and everything else, than I do from Jewish people,” Trump said. “And the Jewish people appreciate it but the evangelicals appreciate it more than the Jews.”

“It’s not a surprise though Mr. President, because evangelicals are people of the book,” Huckabee said in response. “And they believe you kept a promise, were fulfilling really a 3,000-year old commitment to recognize Jerusalem as the capital.”

“I think it’s a nice thing to say because it really affects Jewish people in theory more, but as you say people of the book, people of the Bible,” Trump said. “But the evangelicals really appreciate it and that makes me feel good.”

Huckabee attended the opening of the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem last month.

‘It was a campaign promise, I was going to keep it,” Trump said of the embassy move. He added that he never understood why presidents before him had not moved the embassy, until he began to get calls from dozens of world leaders asking him not to move the embassy.

Huckabee also asked Trump about his relationship with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and about the immigration controversy.

No kidding. He did it for the Evangelical vote. The mains speaker was an Evangelical priest praising J-sus. This did not benefit Jews at all. Only besmuct Jerushalayim Ihr Hakodesh.

There are 60 million Evangelist Christians in the USA. Mostly Republicans. 82% of them voted for Trump. Lohavdil: There are only 6 million Jews in the USA 76% voted for Hillary. Its not rocket science. trump moved the embassy to hold on to the Evangelist Christian votes.
The main Goal of the Evangelist Christians is to convert Jews to Christianity.
Trumps and his Evangelist supporters are a much greater threat to the YIDEN than Iran or the Palis.

I’m sure he understands that most Jewish know less about Judaism than the Evangelicals do.

Well if you tell me what moving the embassy was supposed to accomplish I could start to figure out if it did that.

He didn’t move the embassy to benefit anyone.
He is simply a decent person.
He did it because it was the right thing to do and congress approved it long ago.
The reason he got more feedback from Evangelicals is because there are much more of them than there are truly Jewish-thinking Jews.
Someone should make him aware of this.

You are right Mr President and thanku for proving our point. Although u meant it for the good of the Jewish People, we the Jewish People have 0 benefit of this move rather the opposite holds true. It only brought upon more antisemitism.
Judaism is not a nationality that needs a capital. Judaism is a religion and we observe our holy Torah as commanded by Hashem.
We are all proud citizens in the country we reside, may it be the US or England or wherever. The State of Israel does NOT in any way represent us nor do they speak for us so we have no interest where the embassy is situated. It was a pure move to boost the Zionistic propaganda. Zionism and Judaism are diametrically opposed. Jews never had a capital as Jerusalem is merely a holy place regardless who reigns over it.
At least the truth came out. Its the Evangelicals that benefited from the move. Theyre the most ardent Zionists of today. Its all crystal clear.

to #1 - The galach speaker did not praise J.C. He briefly mentioned J.C. at the end of his speech, and that was it. It would have been nice, if he would not mentioned that at all. In any event, Yidden need the support of the Evangelicals. As long as they don’t actively seek to convert us, I have no problem with their support of EY.
PaulinSaudi and others on this site who share his views, don’t understand the emotional attachment that Jews have for Jerusalem. When the USA refused to officially recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital for seventy years, it was sending a message that Jerusalem was a trefe topic, to be avoided, and perhaps, it didn’t belong to the Jews. Now, with the official recognition, we can stick our chests out, and truly state “Am Yisrael Chai”.

Oh cut out the nonsense. You guys are so full of garbage. He has the Evangelical vote already. He doesn’t need to do it for their vote. You guys are full of BS

Trump did it because he is an ohev yisroel period. End of story. Its why he freed Rubashkin too. Its why he is so proud of Jared. Its why he is such a mentch to jason greenblatt even while jason worked for him in NYC.

You want to call him immoral? Coarse? OK that’s fair game. But this anti emmetic attack is just fake fake lies. Cut it out with your nonsense.

Enpough of this ungrateful nonsense lies that you feed. Be thankful that we have an ohev yisroel as Potus.

Re the evangeleical belief when their messiah comes. Who cares??? We know that the christain messiah ain’t coming. So why should we care that their beliefs when their messiah comes? Who cares about their end game if it ain’t happening?

As a side note, jews have a similar belief re goyim but that’s a mute point. Main point is who cares???
