New York – A young woman woke up in a panic when she felt that a man was sexually harassing her on an El AL flight from New York to Israel, she told Israel’s Army radio Monday morning.

When she rushed to ask for help, she said, the crew member did not change her seat, or that of her alleged harasser, and did not offer to report the incident.
“I was on a flight from New York to Israel,” the woman said. “I woke up with the feeling that someone was rubbing against me. I tried to move the person by force.”
A flight attendant approached at once and said he saw what was going on. The young woman added that a second flight attendant also arrived, but reacted to the incident with indifference. “I began to cry in despair and she tried to convince me that the whole thing was a mistake,” the woman reported.
Another passenger approached her and said that he had witnessed what had happened and was ready to testify on her behalf.
Other flight attendants told the young woman that if she filed a complaint it would be possible to prosecute alleged harasser if he was still in the airport.
“I feel like they did not help me, I’ll go to the police, but I don’t think anything will be resolved. But I’m very angry at El Al and how they reacted. I could not go through a day without thinking about it and not doing something,” she added.
“The passenger was treated during and after the flight with great sensitivity, the service manager took care of her personally and after the flight she was treated by the customer service who offered to accompany her and file a complaint with the police,” El Al said in response.
Yidden, stay off El Al, as there are other airline companies which fly to Israel. When a similar incident occurred on a Delta flight from Tel Aviv to NY, several years ago (the perpetrator was an Israeli Rabbi, with eleven children, who was convicted of molesting a female reserve IDF Major in flight), that crew took decisive action, and the pervert was arrested. He served 90 days in a federal lockup, and was deported!
Of course it’s 100% for anyone to do that. I pray it never happens to anyone.
But come on you don’t need to make it like her life is ruined.
She can just move on, or am I wrong.
I agree with numbers 1 and 3.
Number 2 I feel sorry for you, get some help.
Find him, lock him up and throw away the key!!
I don’t understand why the women would take that harassment, there are things to do to defend yourself rather than crying and running away. Where ever people go there are always losers and there are times someone has to defend themselves against those perverts and take charge of the situation, yes even on a plane. Yes men and women not only women have those problems, learn how to take care, and don’t become a victim become a survivor.
perhaps this adjacent passenger was completely innocent …
all of us writing here (monday morning quarter backers) werent their perhaps she’s over reacting (soon well here it was a charedi rabbi , waiting for that part of the story to materialize) he never touched her with his hands but rubbed up against her with his body at no point during this supposed abuse were his hands used “I woke up with the feeling that someone was rubbing against me. I tried to move the person by force.” it doesnt say what happened when she tried removing him by force
why are we all jumping to conclusions that the gentleman is guilty when it may have been an innocent mistake? if the passenger fell asleep and he was heavy and overweight his body will naturally spill over into the next passengers space
we are all very much aware that el-al crams in as many seats as they can the seats being so narrow ,each 2 passengers sharing 1 arm rest its impossible not to touch the adjacent passenger for 12 hours unless you hold your breath the whole flight or stand the whole flight !we are missing some “salt and pepper to the story here” the crew may have seen it the way im describing it. just saying..
To #1 2 and #1 3 - What planet do you two deniers of reality live on? You actually believe that the perpetrators of sexual abuse, whereby the perpetrator as the Israeli Rabbi mentioned in #1 , are innocent. and that they “were merely leaning over, and accidentally touched the victim”? Why don’t you two get real? Incidentally, in the case of the pervert mentioned in #1 , a judge and jury did not believe him, and he was convicted. In fact, the FBI has stated that they investigate at least a six cases/day of reported sexual abuse cases per week, taking place on commercial airliners in the USA alone.
to #12 and #13 . In the future, read the whole article. If you would have, you would have seen this right in the middle:
Another passenger approached her and said that he had witnessed what had happened and was ready to testify on her behalf.
I suppose the other passenger was lying?
So why does Elal make such a big deal when a hasid dosent want to sit next to a women. If they would sit them seperate those incidents can be avoided.
It could be this women woke up from a deep dream that someone is trying to molest her and it could be this man woke up and dreamed his wife is next to him.
its terrible.she has to fight, go to court, sue him, etc
she should of taken his picture. This terrorist must be in jail to rub with palestin ians.
It’s time for the women to request separate seating.
