The Beachwood Police Department said that it arrived at the Brentwood Road home of 59 year old Richard Warn at 6:08 PM after receiving a 911 call from Warn’s wife, Jane, asking for assistance.

In audio of the call released by Beachwood police, Jane Warn can be heard saying that she and her family had just returned home from vacation but did not have the key to the house, and that while her husband’s car was in the driveway, he did not answer repeated knocks on the door.

Police said that there was no sign of forced entry and police declined to release any further details regarding Warn’s death, saying only that they are working diligently on the case.

Warn, a podiatrist with practices in both Shaker Heights and Hudson, lived in the heart of Cleveland’s Jewish community. His home was located a block away from the Young Israel of Greater Cleveland, the Beatrice J Stone Yavne High School, the Chabad House of Greater Cleveland and the Green Road Synagogue.

A recorded message at both of Warn’s offices indicated that the offices were closed from July 29th through August 9th.

Police are continuing their investigation into Warn’s death in conjunction with the department’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office.
