Washington – The uncle of Stephen Miller, a senior adviser to President Donald Trump, has accused his nephew of being an “immigration hypocrite” who supports policies that would have condemned his own Jewish family to death if they had been enacted a century ago.

Writing in Politico, Miller’s maternal uncle David Glosser described how Miller’s great-great-grandfather Wolf-Leib Glosser fled the Belarusian shtetl of Antopol, arriving in the United States in 1903 “with $8 to his name.”
“In the span of some 80 years and five decades, this family emerged from poverty in a hostile country to become a prosperous, educated clan of merchants, scholars, professionals, and, most important, American citizens,” wrote Glosser, a longtime volunteer with the Jewish-run refugee agency HIAS.
Miller, an immigration hardliner, has been instrumental in the administration’s crackdown on immigrants, including last year’s travel ban targeting seven Muslim-majority nations and the separation of migrant children from their parents at the border. Earlier this month, he was said to be behind a Trump administration proposal that would make it more difficult for legal immigrants to obtain a green card or become citizens if they have used public welfare programs.
“I have watched with dismay and increasing horror as my nephew, who is an educated man and well aware of his heritage, has become the architect of immigration policies that repudiate the very foundation of our family’s life in this country,” Glosser said.
“I shudder at the thought of what would have become of the Glossers had the same policies Stephen so coolly espouses … been in effect when Wolf-Leib made his desperate bid for freedom. The Glossers came to the U.S. just a few years before the fear and prejudice of the ‘America First’ nativists of the day closed U.S. borders to Jewish refugees. Had Wolf-Leib waited, his family would likely have been murdered by the Nazis along with all but seven of the 2,000 Jews who remained in Antopol. I would encourage Stephen to ask himself if the chanting, torch-bearing Nazis of Charlottesville, whose support his boss seems to court so cavalierly, do not envision a similar fate for him.”
Glosser went even further, comparing Trump, and by extension his nephew, to Nazis.
“Trump and my nephew both know their immigrant and refugee roots,” he wrote. “They repeat the insults and false accusations of earlier generations against these refugees to make them seem less than human. Trump publicly parades the grieving families of people hurt or killed by migrants, just as the early Nazis dredged up Jewish criminals to frighten and enrage their political base to justify persecution of all Jews.”
This is not the first time that critics have pointed out the immigrant history of Miller, who has said that he believes in favoring immigrants who already speak English over those who do not. Earlier this year, amateur genealogist Jennifer Mendelsohn posted data from the 1910 census showing that Miller’s great-grandmother did not speak English. Her post was retweeted 17,000 times.
The uncle’s comments seem spot-on. It is remarkable to read the comments from the 1930s explaining why Jewish refugees were a threat to the United States.
Poor bahur just wants to make a living.
There’s a village somewhere missing a useful idiot
Great great grandpa Wolf Leib did not sneak in her illegally, nor did he fit the profile of a homicidal-suicidal maniac. Perhaps intilectually dishonest uncle David is confused by the facts. More likely he is just ignoring them because they don’t fit his narrative, a common practice of the pea brains on the left.
Stephen Miller should buy a toupee; also, his family furnished him with an expensive apartment in the D.C. area.
The uncle is either a moron or deliberately ignores the difference, his grandparents
came to this country LEGALLY as now we have millions invading our country ILLEGALY,
anyone being ok with our country being overwhelmed with millions of illegals,is nothing but a TRAITOR who wants to destroy his own country, and that is the new socialist TRAITOROUS anti-semitic and anti Israel DEMOCRATIC PARTY.

Nope, sorry, not a Jew. I got my DNA back, nothing by Scots and Pollacks.
1) (Can we call our grandparents “ancestors?”) In any case, it was not that Jewish refugees could have been killed. America turned many away and they were killed. Who do you think Islamic fundamentalists want to kill? Mostly other Muslims. (Trust me on this, I have been here almost twenty years.) If we refuse all entries from war-torn countries, many of these people will be killed. Just like the 1930s.
2) Well, in fact, it was American policy to deny a visa to anyone who might become a “public charge.” The applicant was required to produce affidavits from rich Americans. My cite for this is William Russell’s excellent “Berlin Embassy.” (Published in 1943, it is available on Kindle and well worth your time.)
“Trump publicly parades the grieving families of people hurt or killed by migrants, just as the early Nazis dredged up Jewish criminals to frighten and enrage their political base to justify persecution of all Jews.”
Dumb comment. These grieving families WERE killed by migrants whereas the “Jewish criminals” were are all “trumped” up charges (excuse the pun).
To #8 - Stop being so naive; many of the Jewish refugees who tried to enter the USA during the 1930 217;s had funds, and would not have been a 220;public charge 221;. However, the State Department in complicity with FDR, did not want Jewish refugees coming to the USA, nor did our citizens want them, period!
#11 I am sure you are right. I provided a cite. You did not.
To #15 - The word is “citation”, and note “cite”, which is incorrect. My citations are “Paper Walls”, by David S. Wyman, “The Abandonment of the Jews”, by David S. Wyman, and “While Six Million Died”, by Arthur D. Morse.
As a jew, it’s unfortunate what happened to us in the 1940s. However, the American people were right then by not accepting Jewish refugees. They didn’t do anything wrong to Jews why should the Americans take the risk? Also, their fear of having Jewish criminals come in, was also correct. Jews came here they started stealing from the government like no one ever did before. Some of them even started their own crime family business. It was right for the Americans not to accept the Jews then, and it is right for the Americans not to accept Mexicans now.
To #19 - You are insane, and if you are a “Jew”, if is on paper only; clearly, you don’t have the compassion of a Jew. The “facts” which you provided, that “Jewish criminals would come here”, was typical of the propaganda of the Third Reich. Also, who are you referring to when you stated “Jews were stealing from the government”? When the Jews came to the USA, prior to the 1920’s, there were no welfare programs. Therefore, how could they have been stealing from the government? Also, your allegation that “some of them started their own crime family business” is also laughable. There were criminal syndicates among all ethnic groups, including Italians, Irish, Chinese, etc. Why only single the Jews the Jews out? The Jewish refugees who tried to gain admittance to the USA prior to and during World War Two, were only trying to escape genocide. It is too bad that our so-called Jewish leaders at the time, did very little to save our brethren. If we would have only had the political power then, that we have now, we could have saved millions of our people. Many of the troop ships which took our GI’s to Europe, came back empty, and could have been used to have brought Jews to the USA.
#16 I cannot post here on the Sabbath. The editors must approve all posts and of course, they are not working. Somebody come up with a clever way to prove who I am I, I will be happy to cooperate.
#27, I am a Southern Baptist. I am certainly not a minister.
