It was not immediately clear if it was a vehicular attack or a car accident.

The woman was hit as she crossed Route near the outpost.

The car appeared to be a Palestinian taxi, which fled the scene.

A Magen David Adom paramedic said that the woman was found unconscious in a ditch and had sustained massive injuries. She was not breathing nor did she have a heart beat, the paramedic said.

They were unable to revive her and she was declared dead at the scene.

The incident occurred close the site of a January 9 terror attack in which Rabbi Raziel Shevach, a father of six, was shot dead by Palestinians as he drove near his home in the Havat Gilad outpost.

Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan went immediately to the scene and received an update from the IDF.

“This is a very difficult incident,” Dagan said. “Samaria residents will continue to be strong.”
