Trump says the official, Bruce Ohr, is a “disgrace.”
Asked about Ohr’s security clearance, Trump said: “I suspect I’ll be taking it away very quickly. For him to be in the Justice Department and doing what he did, that is a disgrace.”
Ohr has come under Republican scrutiny for his contacts to Glenn Simpson, co-founder of Fusion GPS. The opposition research firm hired former British spy Christopher Steele during the 2016 presidential campaign to compile the dossier.
Ohr’s wife, Nellie, worked for Fusion GPS during the campaign — something Trump has tweeted about to highlight his assertions of political bias behind the Russia investigation.
Forget security clearance being revoked this guy should be in prison
Fusion GPS isn’t an anti Trump company, it’s a political research company which many Republican’s used. Suggesting that someone’s wife working at that company, or simply talking to the owner of that company, makes someone bias, is insane.
For all you know, he wanted to check on the authenticity of the report. Wouldn’t that be part of the requirements of his job?
Trump is playing around with the security clearance issue as if it’s under his personal ownership.
IF Ohr’s security should be questioned, let the normal process of cancelling his clearance. This due process must be adhered so that political biases do not affect the hiring or firing of career staff.
But that would not concern this current Presidential Regime.
TRump admitted that Ohr’s revocation of security clearance was because that Russian thing. His AND HIS WIFE’S alleged involvement with The Steel Dossier and Fusion GOP, err, GPS.
It is not about national security. (In fact, it could damage national security!) It is for political revenge.
Sad.
So sad.
