Don’t blame the parents, are small children do run into the street, in an instant. Several years ago, while returning from a Jewish War Veterans get together at the local JCC, I was driving down a side street, which I’ve traveled on many times, no faster than 20 mph. All of a sudden, this nine year old, two legged, vilda chaya, who should have known better, darted into the street in front of my car. Immediately, I slammed on my powerful brakes, and the car stopped inches from that character. I was so upset over that that I yelled out “You stupid son of a —–. He stood there grinning at me. I could hear his Mother yelling at him. Would you believe that about two weeks later, the exact same miscreant was doing the same thing in the street again. I don’t know if he purposely wanted to confront the drivers, or what his problem was. I’m glad that I didn’t hit him. It is too bad that his Mother didn’t teach him a lesson the first time.
