Lebanese men, whom the IDF says are members of the Hezbollah terrorist group, peer into Israel from an observation post near the border, as seen in images released by the military on October 22, 2018. (Israel Defense Forces)Jerusalem – The IDF has discovered a Hezbollah observation post on the Israel-Lebanon border, which it says is acting under the guise of the so-called environmental NGO “Green Without Borders.”

The position was found Lebanese border town of Aladisa, which sits a few kilometers south-west of Metula and east of Kibbutz Misgav Am.

In a statement, the IDF explained that Hezbollah uses Green Without Borders “as a cover story for the organization’s activity in the contact zone and establishes observation posts aimed at gathering information about IDF forces.

“The Hezbollah terrorist organization violates UN Resolution 1701 on a regular basis, operating in the area south of the Litani River, and using civilian camouflage and reinforcing military capabilities in the rural areas of the Shi’ite villages in violation of the UN resolution,” the IDF said.

UN Resolution 1701 states that the presence of any armed group is prohibited, except for the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) south of the Litani River.

The IDF said that the Shi’ite terrorist organization regularly violates this decision, moves on the fence armed, attacks Israeli territory, and establishes a military infrastructure near the border, all under the guise of a fictitious society for the environment. In addition, it bases its military capabilities on Shiite villages in southern Lebanon.

It warned that “Hezbollah is acting as someone who thinks that the IDF is not aware of its activities, and is preventing UN forces in the area from examining these positions, claiming that this is a private area and thus preventing any report on the violation of Resolution 1701 from being reviewed.”

Last year, Israel protested to the United Nations Security Council after IDF intelligence revealed that Hezbollah had established a series of outposts along the border under the guise of an environmental organization.

A video released by the IDF at the time showed armed Hezbollah fighters manning at least five observation posts along the border, supposedly run by Green Without Borders.

Hezbollah has been using the outposts to observe IDF movements along the border.

Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon wrote in a letter to the Security Council that the NGO is funded by and operates on behalf of Hezbollah. Included in the Ambassador’s letter to the Council were photographs of the observation posts and their locations.

yamsar I bet these “environmentalists” are paid by your boss Soros. Anyway why do they have to peer into Israel when they have spies inside the Knesset namely so called Israeli Arabs, Azmi Bishara was an actual Hezbollah spy.

IDF should just bomb these outposts back into the stone age. Is there an expectation that any part of the UN will come to Israel’s defense about anything?
