    I agree with comment # 5

he gets paid money for punching people. that is a disgraceful chillel hashem.

he ought to be ashamed of himself.

Dovid is a very high Neshama- He has been a poster boy for kiruv- he davens and learns in a way that many of his detractors would do well to emulate- we once were proud of our fighters- but now the Golus has so weakened some that they are embarressed by a Proud Jew.

Anyone who’s somewhat familiar with American-Jewish history, knows that the Jews once dominated the Boxing arena. And no, not only the business part…

“Can a boxer have the will power to be a world champion if he loves every creature, every minute?”

Maybe not, but if he did he wouldn’t leave comments like that either.

Who do you people think you are to judge – ” he is a mentch”, he is not a mentch” “Tzaddik”, “not a Tzaddik.
I know one thing if he prays three times a day and learns every day in my book that makes him a good jew

Does Venishmartem Meoid Es Nafshoseichem not apply here?

Don’t get me wrong. If he still continues I will root for him, but still.

he is more of a MENTSH then many many others so while he may be a boxer out of the ring I’ve heard only fine things abt him and on the contrary I hear many of our youth today can emulate him too. Compared to some of our trash he is a major mentsh.

I’m sure that this sport is done with the approval of his mentor. Kol Hakovod. He is earning an honest living. Just remember to give Maaser and you’ll have hatzlocha.

he should be persuaded to give it up as being the antithisis of judaism, beating people up, no yarmulka. so does he want to frum or what? it gives the totally wrong message to our youth that you behave like a goy while being a good jew.
