New York – A Fox Business Network host apologized after a U.S. congressman questioned whether liberal financier George Soros is Jewish and suggested that he betrayed Jews during the Holocaust.

Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, who is not Jewish, made the accusations, which were off the topic, during an appearance Thursday on the Fox Business Network with Stuart Varney.
Varney did not challenge the accusations and steered the conversation back to the topic they were supposed to be discussing.
In the following broadcast hour, Varney issued an on-air apology, saying: “In the last hour one of our guests, Congressman Louie Gohmert, for some reason went out of his way to bring up George Soros and made up unsubstantiated and false allegations against him. I want to make clear those views are not shared by me, this program or anyone at Fox Business.”
Gohmert said during the interview: “George Soros is supposed to be Jewish, but you wouldn’t know it from the damage he’s inflicted on Israel and the fact that he turned on fellow Jews and helped take the property that they owned.”
Soros, a major supporter of liberal causes, has become a popular villain on the far right. Gohmert’s statements echo accusations from Soros’ critics of his funding for left-wing and human rights groups in Israel, and unfounded allegations that he collaborated with Nazis as a Jewish teen in Hungary during the Holocaust. Soros, who was 13 in 1944, survived the Holocaust in the care of a Hungarian official whose job included taking inventory of confiscated Jewish-owned property.
In response to the interview, the National Council of Young Israel tweeted: “What @replouiegohmert said was based upon this interview w/ 60 Minutes. Soros in his own words clearly implied he helped confiscate Jewish property during holocaust while posing as a non Jew & saying he felt no guilt doing so.” The tweet included a link to the interview.
In the interview, Soros noted that he was just a child said he had no actual role in taking the property and therefore felt no guilt.
Many replies to the tweet suggested that the organization should be ashamed for smearing a child Holocaust survivor.

Fox News needs to be reorganized with new personnel; it took years for them to get rid of that sexual pervert, Bill O’Reilly. There were other sexual perverts on its payroll, which Fox eventually got rid of, after looking the other way for years. Even today, Fox uses so-called “expert” pundits, with less than honorable backgrounds. Frequently, it relies upon the advice of Mark Fuhrman, a former disgraced detective of the LAPD. The ex-police chief of the LAPD couldn’t stand him. In addition to Furhman being convicted of perjury, Fuhrman, while performing security at a movie theater in LA, beat up a Jewish couple, whom he had a dispute with, regarding their movie theater tickets. The latter is not fake news, as Fuhrman also did that to another couple. In addition, Fox frequently has that freak Corey Lewandowski on, who assaulted a female reporter, and was arrested for doing so. He was also arrested for trying to bring a firearm into the U.S. Capitol. Last, the married Father of four, had an ongoing affair with Hope Hicks, while working on Trunmp’s campaign. Fox also employs a reporter who became drunk and disorderly at a Minneapolis Airport, and spit on a cop.
Regarding that freak O’Reilly, who used to preside over “The O’Reilly Factor” on Fox News, Rupert Murdoch, who owns Fox, was aware of the various lawsuits and many complaints against O’Reilly. Yet, because of his greed for the advertising dollar, he presented O’Reilly with a new four year contract, to the tune of $100,000,000, in early 2017. However, a few months later, O’Reilly was finally forced out. However, Murdoch had to cough up $25,000,000 to O’Reilly. A short time later, O’Reilly had to pay an Attorney on Fox News, Liz Wiehl, $30,000,000 for sexual harassment, as well as for non-consexual sex, over a period of several years. It was absolutely incredible and astounding, that Fox let that situation fester (costing them big bucks in legal settlements), for many years. It was only because of the insistence of Murdoch’s sons and daughter-in-laws, that they finally got rid of that pervert, O’Reilly. It was astounding that Newsmax, another conservative news channel, actually hired O’Reilly to appear twice a week, on its broadcast!
