The statement from the group of prominent rabbis asks the Jewish community, including elementary schools and institutions of higher learning, to recite Tehillim during the Mincha services on Tuesday, which coincides with the fast of Asara B’Teves.

It decries the new guidelines, issued by Commissioner MaryEllen Elia of the New York State Department of Education as a “clear and present danger that affects us and our children” which will have “a terrible negative impact, quantitatively and qualitatively, on the chinuch of our children as has been handed down to us through the generations.”

I don’t get it, the aguda and satmar went all out for cuomo 1 month ago before elections and have werdyger their chairman and abe Eisner and they told us the masses follow us we have daas torah now suddenly they want us the masses to follow them again? Agudah doesn’t speak for anyone without big bucks they and their pointless conferences have no relevance

the one way to stop this DECREE is to REGISTER ALL YIDDISHE & HEIMISHE CHILDREN IN PUBLIC SCHOOL – let them have the headache of creating classes – opening new buildings – hiring teachers – and then no one sends them to school.

the “Bored” of Education will have all the expenses and will have to deal with it

This is why we need to vote republican. I wonder why my satmar friend is so quite now. Maybe he finally relaized that the big democrat win in the Ny state senate is bad for frum jews. Dems are bad for frum jews. They take away our religious liberties

I’m praying the guidelines stay in place. Put an end to the abusive neglect of the kids’ educational needs.

Learning torah Is the way to go to give a proper foundation to your children to yourself On how to Become and to live like a proper Jew.that’s only if you practice what you learn learning without practicing in gods eyes means zero. The behavior of certain groups specially when it comes in the public forum or the coverups over the past few years of certain things that have taken place in the communities I think the English is not such a bad thing after all

Is anyone aware of a Yom Tefillah by the Moatz for the thousands of Kids who have gone OTD, cause they were not accepted in schools over the many years? NO, it never happened such an event.. the Rabbi’s IMHO are not to be taken seriously anymore on the issue of education, until they adresse publicly this issue.

It started with banning college. Now, Satmar and Lakewood have banned high school.
Thank G-d the state is stepping in to restore some common sense.

Heaven forbid that our communities might come to respect science and immunize the children!

What about all the powerful “askanim” with their silly photo ops with Coumo, DiBlasio, and other Toeyva supporters in the Dem party? Just useless and stupid ego trips but of no use when support for Torah is needed. Ditto to the heimisha, public relations zoinah who makes sure he’s pictured with every toeyva supporting Dem such as Nadler, and who will lobby for any cause as long as he gets paid. Where are his connections now? Useless, kovod hungry idiots

Prayer for this? OTD looks more kosher every day. Oy.

If you people don’t learn how to spell English words properly, the next gezerah is going to require buying dictionaries for each family member.

Seriously, challenges to educational proposals look pretty silly when it’s clear that people cannot write simple sentences correctly.

This is what happens when liberals are in charge. First they come for our yeshivas then milah, followed by shabbos and kosher. We must resist.

I am happy the Olam is starting to get it. The Rebbes and Rabbonim just want to keep us in the dark, enabling their power to be solidified and not challenged. They live comfortably and don’t need education to pay their bills, while the rest of us do.
I am going to Daven really hard this thing passes, albeit with reduce mandatory hours. The best way is to use testing to make sure we give our precious children at least some kind of “minimum slandered education”, and give them a fighting chance in the world. How many that come out of our yeshivas can write a proper report of speak a full paragraph straight.
I am not even talking about those that sound like morons when speaking English. Lets face it – get a job anywhere and people WILL notice you had a Yeshiva education. And don’t give the BS about the scvarters in public schools are not doing better.
I that what you are inspire your kids reach? Are you happy your kids will have to rely their whole life on gov’t help?

Now isn’t the time to share grievances about specific problems in Yeshivos. When a fire is burning you don’t say “let’s fix the problems and then we’ll see if we can save the places”. These guidelines put ALL YESHIVOS in serious danger. Now is the time to unite in prayer and put differences aside.

isn’t there supposed to be a separation of state and religion in america? Why aren’t lawyers doing their jobs and filing court papers to stop this intrusion of the state in religious schools The not so subtle new rule of how many hours have to be spent teaching secular subjects in jewish schools, is plainly a ruse to stop teaching torah to our children , same as the hellenists did in the days of antiochus .Why are our leaders not saying as much.?

When moshiach come במהרה ובימינו, how will all the frum Yidden in NY find housing in Israel?
The current threat is grave… do not disregard it. They are threatening to hold parents liable for truancy if they don’t enroll their kids in a school that meets their guidelines. And the new guidelines are draconian. Truant parents are liable to both fines and jail (no beheading according to current regulations).

We pray that this decree will be nullified, but consider the scenario would it not: What do you imagine parents will do when they get out of a week of jail time with the threat to be held longer if they don’t comply? Some would move to NJ, others to Israel. The property market in Brooklyn would crash… all sellers and no buyers.

If nearly a quarter million Jews make aliya, how will they be absorbed?
When moshiach comes, the need to make aliya will be much more sudden… PREPARE.
