San Francisco, CA – Michael Savage, America’s third most popular talk radio host, is planning to sue Jacqui Smith, the Home Secretary, after he was banned [reported earlier by VIN News] from Britain alongside Islamic preachers and terrorists because his views may incite violence.

Mr Savage, whose daily show has an audience of millions, condemned “the country of Magna Carta” for “cowardly and distorted liberalism”, and took a swipe at British dentistry along the way.
“And I was just planning a trip to England for their superior dental work and cuisine,” he told WorldNetDaily, a conservative website. He said that he was consulting his lawyers about legal action against the Home Secretary, and had no idea why he had been included on the list.
“It’s interesting to me that here I am a talk show host, who does not advocate violence, who advocates patriotic traditional values … is now on a list banned in England,” Mr Savage said. “What does that say about the government of England? It says more about them than it says about me.”
The Home Office said Mr Savage, 67, who was born Michael Weiner, might “provoke others to serious criminal acts and fostering hatred which might lead to inter-community violence”.
Mr Savage has said that Muslims “need deportation” and would do well to “take your religion and shove it up your behind” because “I’m sick of you”.
He once encouraged his listeners to burn Mexican flags to counter a pro-immigration group that had burned American flags and in 2007 said he hoped that students fasting in favour of immigration reform would starve to death.
The other Americans named on the list of 22 undesirables were Stephen Donald Black, a former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard who set up a racist website; Fred Waldron Phelps, a pastor who is known for picketing the funerals of soldiers killed in Iraq, claiming their deaths are divine punishment for society’s tolerance of homosexuality, and his daughter Shirley.
The U.S. has similiar lists of thousand of individuals we will not allow to visit including many prominent scholars from other countries whose political views were not acceptable to prior administrations. The Brits have the right to bar anyone they don’t approve of. What is he going to sue for??

Go Michael, we are all with you. This is a fight for freedom of speach, a fight for individual freedom even though it might be against the governments agenda.
He can sue for total defamation by the Country of Magna Carta, how stupid could they be. Does anyone take such a stupid Gov seriesly any more?
Not only is he 100% right, but for the first time I will put my money where my mouth is. I will contribute to his legal campaign. Jacqui Smith is despised over there as soft on terrorism, being too afraid to deport that insane blind, no hands Muslim “cleric” (I think he blew himself up in some bomb making or something like that) who hates Britain & publicly calls for attacks on British Jews & Israel, yet supports his family on welfare & free housing.
Her husband recently tried to charge the House of Commons i.e. the British taxpayer, for the “adult” movies he rented. Such honorable people! Now you know why I renounced my British citizenship.
Savage is the man! To place him on a list with murderers is simply a defamation, and saying that he is the Jewish version of these Muslim terrorists, paints a target on his back. He already has a very sensitive security complex (own 4 homes in same city that he randomly moves around), he doesn’t need that stupid Brit to incite hatred to him from the terrorists. Also, she said that his intolerance has incited murder, that is a lie and impossible for her to prove.
michael savage is just like all the other talk show hosts, both conservative and liberal. he’s a spin doctor – he twists issues around to fit his talk show platform. like on yesterday’s show, he was talking about how this country is becoming like george orwell’s book 1984!! i mean, ok, fine, you don’t have to like obama, but that’s a bit of a stretch.
nonetheless i find him entertaining, so i listen. he’s like a cranky zeidy.

The Brits should just ignore him. They are giving him lots of free publicity and now he can file a suit to get more publicity. I do think many of his views are vile but if the U.S. tried to muzzle him, that would violate our notions of free speech. However, the U.K. is a sovereign nation and can decide if they want to keep out certain people. Couldn’t Israel decide not to let in people it considers dangerous?
BTW – Why doesn’t he sue Myamar – they won’t let him in either.

Savage is a paid entertainer. As such, he never lets the FACTS get in the way of a good rant. Too many people take what he says as true fact as opposed to entertainment.
That being said, I too would fight this defamation of his character. To be put in a short list with genuine racists and antisemites is ridiculous.
The government in the UK should immediately remove his name from that list and realize that he is an entertainer… it is political parody and satire. How could THAT be so horrible that they fear it will damage the social conscience of the people of Britain?

Whats he suing for? He already aired his views that he doesn’t like ‘the country of the Magna Carter’. If you put people / a country down – don’t expect them to be nice to you.
