Washington – President Donald Trump is threatening to close the U.S. border with Mexico if Democrats in Congress don’t agree to fund the construction of a border wall.

Trump tweeted Friday morning that “We will be forced to close the Southern Border entirely,” unless a funding deal is reached with “the Obstructionist Democrats.”
Trump’s demand for money to build the border wall and Democrats’ refusal to give him what he wants has caused a partial government shutdown that is nearly a week old. Congress adjourned for the week without a resolution in sight.
The shutdown is idling hundreds of thousands of federal workers and beginning to pinch citizens who count on some public services.
And if you still don’t buy me a wall I’m going to throw my teddy bear and blanky and my botty out of my cribby.

I truly don’t understand why Trump and friends are angry at Democrats . He clearly and publicly said numerous times that Mexico was going to pay for the Wall. I would imagine that Schumer, Pelosi , etc would be fine with a wall that we didn’t have to pay for. Not fair of Trump to blame them when he is not sticking to his original promise

Why is Trump expecting Congress to pay for the same wall that Mexico is paying for? Someone is making a lot of money having 2 governments each pay for the same wall. If I build a fence between my property and my neighbors we certainly wouldn’t each pay the full cost of the fence.
I’m surprised that a businessman like Trump is unable to see the double payment as a rip off of American taxpayers.
