California Rep. Brad Sherman is expected to introduce articles of impeachment against Trump on Thursday, the first day of the new Congress.

Sherman and a handful of other Democrats pushed resolutions to impeach Trump in the last Congress. The House blocked those resolutions twice, with the help of Democrats who said the effort was premature. Pelosi hasn’t ruled out impeachment but has called it a “divisive activity” that needs support from both parties.

Also Thursday, House Judiciary Committee Democrats introduced legislation to protect special counsel Robert Mueller from being fired. Trump has repeatedly criticized Mueller’s Russia investigation.

Not likely to make it to the floor. Hopefully, the adults in the House will realize it’s a lost cause.

What a waste of time and effort. Watching the administration implode and self destruct will be much more satisfying and will get us back to government run on American values much quicker.

Don’t worry, Trumpty Dumpty fans. You’ll still be able to yell FAKE NEWS when the facts make the Orange One look bad, and you’ll always have BENGHAZZI!

It seems certain that the President is guilty of obstruction of justice. I would prefer that a bill of impeachment have stronger charges to lead off. Wait until we get the report.

I could imagine cooperating with the Russians (and the Chinese and Saudis) as the headline charges followed by obstruction in follow-up roles.
