Jerusalem – Victims Of Palestinian Terror Prevail, Set To Get Married

Jerusalem – Ayelet Dikstein, 34, and Avigdor Gavish, 36, lost their parents and siblings 20 years ago in Arab terror attacks in Judea and Samaria, but they did not let the tragedies dictate or define their life, and have now decided to get married.

They met at a support group for orphans, and on Saturday they celebrated their engagement in Elkana, an Israeli community in the Samarian hills.

Gavish lost his parents in April 2002, during the Second Intifada when a terrorist infiltrated his family home in Elon Moreh, an Israeli community near Shechem (Nablus), and killed his father David, his mother Rachel, his brother Avraham and his grandfather Yitzchak Kanar. The terrorist was later killed by IDF forces in a shootout inside the house.

In July that same year, a terrorist fired at the car in which Ayelet’s family was riding while they were on their way for Shabbat in Hebron’s Hills.

Ayelet’s younger brother Shuvael, her father Yosef and her mother Chana were shot to death.

Ayelet and Avigdor met two years ago at the meetings of the One Family organization, a national organization that provides support to over 12,000 Israeli victims of terrorism and war. They found that they had a lot in common, and as time passed the bond between them grew, and they started dating.

Despite their tragedies, Avigdor and Ayelet continued on the paths of their lives. Avigdor became an IDF officer and a deputy company commander in an elite unit. He then studied industrial engineering and management, but after concluding his studies decided to become a musician, and in 2017 produced his first album “A New Day.”

Ayelet also prevailed, despite the terrible losses she suffered. She studied education and works now as a therapist.

Before the engagement, the couple went to the Elon More and Psagot cemeteries, where their families are buried.

To those who say Pelosi is pro Israel and supports the embassy moved to Jerusalem this is what she said when the move was announced “moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem now may needlessly spark mass protests, fuel tensions, and make it more difficult to reach a durable peace.”

Mazal Tov! I have reason to believe that the kallah is related to me, on her mother A”H’s side. Her parents and one brother were killed in a terrorist attack in 2002 (not 20 years ago). May they be zocheh to build a bayis b’Yisroel.
