“The Duke of Edinburgh was involved in a road traffic accident with another vehicle this afternoon,” it said in a statement. “The Duke was not injured. The accident took place close to the Sandringham Estate.”

Local police attended the scene, the palace added.

The BBC reported that Philip was driving a Range Rover and that the vehicle landed on its side after a collision. It quoted a witness as saying the Duke was very shaken.

A palace spokeswoman later confirmed the Duke was at the wheel and that he was checked by a doctor afterwards. He did not go to hospital and was now back at Sandringham.

Philip married Elizabeth in 1947 and has been by his wife’s side throughout her long reign.

The former naval officer did not accompany the Queen to a church service on Christmas Day last month though a royal source said he was in good health.

Philip, who had successful hip replacement surgery last year, retired from public life in 2017.

The Alter Cocker just used up his 9th life.

The old cocker should stop driving at 97; also, the local authorities should publicly reveal who was at fault for the accident. However, I seriously doubt that they will release that information to the public.

Was anyone else hurt? Certainly ninety-five is too old to be driving.

To #4 - Yes, a woman in the car which the dumb, incompetent Prince hit, broke her wrist, and another passenger in that car had cuts. There was a baby in the other car, who appeared to be ok. The alte cocker Prince (who should not be driving), as he stated that “he was dazzled by the sun”. Translated, it means that the sun got in his eyes, and he couldn’t see where he was going. He was too lazy to have worn sunglasses. He should be cited for reckless driving, and failure to control his vehicle. Over the years, Prince Philip has shown his lack of good judgment; for example, years ago, when he was visiting Australia, he traveled to an area, where the indigenous native Australians live. He actually asked the tribal chief “Do you people still throw spears at each other”. They don’t come any dumber than Prince Philip.
