We were told that there was now “dialogue” between the Black community and the Chassidim in Crown Heights, in an effort to bring peace, following the Crown Heights Pogrom of 1991. Well, whereas the “dialogue” (meetings, basketball games, kumbayas, etc.), may look good on paper, in reality, nothing much has changed. Jews are still getting beaten and robbed in Crown Heights by their law abiding neighbors. I can’t understand why the Chassidim have not moved out of that area, to a safer area. It is true that now area is entirely safe. However, I’m afraid that what once occurred in Crown Heights (pogrom) could chas v’shalom reoccur.

Crown Heights is not safe. Borough Park is much safer, and is a nicer area.
