Sheldon Silver is quoted in todays Daily News as saying he supports gay marraige because it is just and equitable.
There’s no question it will pass the Assembly or that the Governor will sign, the only question is in the Senate, where its within one or two votes. If it passes in the megastate of New York, it will be a landmark in civil rights progress and, with 6 other states already allowing gay marriage and the CA Supreme Court leaning towards invalidating Prop 8 on constitutional grounds, the debate will effectively be over.
Shelly Silver is no different from any other politition. He does what he has to do to get re-elected. He should be ashamed of himself. Now lets see if the Boro Park Rebbes will sit at the head table with him at the next dinner.
This country is not a theocracy. Shelly Silver is speaking like an American. In Leviticus it says same-sex marriages are not good. But a couple of chapters later, it says to “stone disobedient children”. Would you have a problem enforcing that? Of course.
This is a secular country. It is always funny how Hikind attacks the Governor on this issue, then chickens out when Gov. Paterson is on his own show. It’s time he picked a side.

Kudos to Assm Hikind for having Gavah Dekdusha and taking out a Chumash in the Chamber showing all his coligues that he would support the bill but its agains the torah, its a befireshi gmoroh “al tomer ei efsher bchazir” but one should say that he dosnt eat it because the torah dosnt let. Dov said in the Assambly that he is a jew, and he does what says in the torah.

Gay and Lesbian “marriage” has been proven to decrease life expectancy (39 years for gays!), vastly increase depression and suicide statistics, and doesn’t even create a one on one relationship. Given enough time, the cheating statistics in homosexual relationships approach 100%. Approximately 50% of gays end up having over 500 sexual partners during their lifetimes, and many have over 1000! This is clearly evidence that homosexual relationships are NOT healthy, alternative lifestyles, but depressing, deadly, and unfaithful relationships.
