Zhoie Perez, 45, was shot Thursday outside the Etz Jacob synagogue after filming for several minutes a guard gripping a handgun in reaction to her presence. She was taken to hospital in stable condition and her life was not in danger.

The incident was posted on YouTube by an account called Furry Potato Live, which has videos of Perez and others confronting police to test their rights.

The Ohel Chana High School, which is located in the same building as the synagogue, told parents that she was shot after “canvassing” around the property. It was after she “became belligerent,” the school wrote to parents.

Perez, who was released from the hospital later Thursday, said that she was trying to film the architecture of the synagogue, according to the LA Times.

“I was just filming the exterior of the synagogue here, and getting a lot of like, the architecture, and all that, and the guard came out and just started freaking out, started putting his hand on his gun,” she said.

The guard was detained by police. Perez has not been charged with a crime.

In October, a far-right activist killed 11 people at a synagogue in Pittsburgh.

Who the heck ever shoots to warn someone?

This man/woman is an alt left nutjob. That said, the security guard has zero right to shoot him/her.

The rent a cop security guard, has been arrested by LA Police, and charged with assault with a deadly weapon. These private security guards, are accidents waiting to happen, as they don’t have the train that the regular sworn uniformed cops have. However, they are often utilized, as they charge less than police officers.

While I can agree with the school being concerned, the LA cops stated that the shooting victim did not commit a crime. The private security guard was trigger happy. The bullet could have bounced off the sidewalk, and struck the school!

It looks suspicious in these times if someone is filming the school. She should have asked for permission first so they would know she’s not a suspect in something criminal. You can’t be too careful nowadays. Maybe the guard should have warned her to leave and let her know he would shoot if she didn’t leave.

#6 if you can see something, you can film it. No permission required.
