Despite over 40 minutes of rescue efforts on the scene, Hatzalah responders could not restore Rav Bransdorfer’s breathing and heartbeat, and a MDA doctor who later arrived at the scene declared Rav Bransdorfer no longer alive.

The Rav had apparently collapsed of serious heart failure.

Rav Bransdorfer was the head of the Eida HaChareidis’ Shechita Committee. He was born in Belgium 74 years ago, and was considered one of the poskei hador.

Among his sons is Rabbi Shmuel Bransdorfer, a rabbi in Beit Shemesh.

    To Humble Yid,

Oh, yes, that is certainly something to be proud of. Trying to force women to wear a cape, especially in the summer. That’s what we all need. But yes, baruch, dayan emes.

Such a loss! What a void! He was considered in the ranks of such “poisky hador” as rav weiss (minchas yitzchok), and rav shternbuch shlita. Also he was the “de facto” boss on the bedatz kashrus supervision. He will be hard to replace. No question!

Baruch Dayan H’emes. A true loss for Klal Yisroel.

    To #13
He did many great accomplishments for Klal Yisroel. However I believe you added some of your own words. Here goes: his advise was, to wear a TICHEL with absolutely no hair sticking out of it at any time, in order to insure the Jewish a free ticket to get into Olam Habah.

I believe these are your words. So according to you, Lubavitchers and those of us wearing Sheitels are doomed, no matter what. And those who are wearing tichels no matter how they behave are getting a free ticket to Olam Habah, Yeah right.

I think some of you just don’t understand who this tzadick was, he respected everyone. I was sitting at his house on Friday when a women who came menachem ovle sate down on one of the aveilim’s chair and didn’t want to get up. She was saying he was a father to me and I’m an ovle too. This women was wearing a sheitel

The story #17 posted was beautiful. Thank you.
Rav Bransdorfer was someone who took great interest in couples with fertility challenges and worked closely with us. As an organization we have lost a friend and as Klal Yisroel we have lost a tzaddik.
