NYPD Highway A.I. units are responding to investigate the scene.

The boy is clinging to life after a car plowed into him as he played in the street with other kids.

The child, Pinchas Zanger, had just darted out from between two parked cars when the black Audi slammed into him.
“He was laying there facedown,” said Jacob Freidman, 26. “He was unconscious.”

Cops said the 33-year-old driver will not be charged in the accident. “They were racing around chasing one another like kids do,” said resident Renee Katz.
“It is sad. We are a close community. We are like one family.”

At the hospital surgeons performed emergency brain surgery.

Please drive safe – close your selphone while driving – don’t try to cach lights – Allways be redy for a child running in your way – remember “cheresh shote vekuten pegiuson ruu” if you hit a child you are allways at fold. drive slow all the time (in the city) 90′ of accidents could have been avoided, and should be avoided. that is a mortal respasibility of every observent jew

9:45, most likely the driver in this case was NOT at fault, though the investigation is still ongoing. May this child have a complete recovery, keep davenning, he needs all our tefillos.

I dont know if it would make a difference in this case, since it happened during the day. I belive reflective belts should be manditory for walkers at night just like seat belts are manditory for drivers. I find making turns at corners extremly dangerous you can’t see people dressed in black until you almost hit them. Hashem yishmor.

I don’t believe this! About an hour later I was driving by this site. A Hatzoloh vehicle was doubleparked. As I was passing it, partly over the double yellow lines, a boy (10-11 yrs old) popped out with no warning from the front of the hatzoloh vehicle walking or riding his bicycle against traffic! It was a miracle that I didn’t hit him. From the look on his face I don’t think he had any idea how he just nearly committed suicide! We need a major safety education campaign in all Yeshivos ASAP!

What we need is assemblies In every single school today niot just in the classroom but in the main Assembly hall. If hatzola members are available stop in at every school you can (dispatch to schools). Tell the students m’gadol v’ad katan what happened and why it is sakonos nefoshos and an aveirah when “you” individually are not as careful with your own life and others’ as possible.

review the simple rules:

DON’T CROSS BETWEEN CARS
CROSS AT THE CORNER
DON’T CROSS AGAINST THE LIGHT
DON’T DOUBLE PARK OR BLOCK VIEWS AT CORNERS
DON’T RUN OUT AFTER THE BALL
DON’T PUSH THE CARRIAGE/STROLLER OUT IN FRONT OF YOU HOPING TO STOP TRAFFIC, YOU MIGHT NOT, THEY MIGHT STOP YOU!

Child needs a miracle to survive… no hope otherwise. Very, very sad and tragic! Yes, children and parents need to be warned of the dangers of the streets!

Its about time to educate starting from the mothers that push the carriages into coming traffic to people that cross kids in middle of the block to the drivers that its a residential area that they shouldn’t drive fast because they won’t get there faster due to traffic and red lights

To all people posting here please be advised that everyone reads this possibly the parents as well. This was an unfortunate accident with a slow moving car the child was hit in the wrong part of the brain and hatzolah was there working on him within 45 seconds of being hit. They tried reviving him this continued at lutheran trauma center until 3 in morning when child was transferred to Schneider childrens hospital where the child is in very serious condition and needs a true ness to survive

One thing I can tel you of experiance driving in boro park is a nightmare with al the duble parked cars (only for one second) and parking at bus stops it is a nes min shumayim that accidants does not hapen avryday day if people would not be so selfish they would not do that and also people don’t know that for a bus to stop takes much longer time and space than for a car please don’t pull out in front of a bus when you see it coming why don’t you think that there people like you on the bus and they can get injured or even you can, vnishmartem moid lenafshoisyche!!

Also to be extra cautious….Never ever back out from your driveway without having your radio or tape on OFF position, keep your windows open in case you can hear a small big wheel popping in your direction so you can hear if anyone is behing you…Also when you back out in a bungallow colony walk around the car to see if any tiny kids are in your vicinity and apply above rules….It just takes ONE second of negligence to destroy two lives …(the drivers life gets destroyed after killing anyone by accident)…..

Remember when you do not pull into your driveway all the way, and thereby blocking the sidewalk, you are in essence forcing young children to walk onto the street, without the knowledge of their parents. You are also forcing people in wheelchairs to ride on the slanty part of the sidewalk.

In my opinion all of the stores that rent containers before yom tov and park them at the corner are endangering the public. there should be at the very least two car lengths between these containers and the corners so that the people crossing at the corner should be able to see if they can cross or not. they should also remove these trailers the day after yom tov.

I think all drivers have to know that children dont always use the “thinking” part of their brain before they run to make a light with their friends or catch a ball they just dart! IF YOU SEE A BALL THE ROLLING IN THE GUTTER 99% A CHILD IS COMING RIGHT AFTER! we just have to be aware of our surroundings at all times whether driving or walking… I hope this child can pull through and be a living lesson for us to learn…

the yeshivos should tell the bocherim who walk to yeshiva in the early morning & return late at night to stay on the sidewalks. The Novominsker Yeshiva is just an accident waiting to happen r”l their bochurim pop out in middle of the block dressed all in black before dawn & after dusk & a driver has a hard time seeing them on 17 Avenue as there are a lot of trees & it’s quite dark. Where are the mashgichim?

this news is for one reason – to focus on the recovery of this young child who was hit by a car – suddenly it has become a venting board for 30+ people to try to teach the world road safety, as if posting all these comments is really going to help and change the way the world works – problem is that every news page that goes up elicits 100’s of criticisms from so called do gooders. My advice is to do what I am doing and most others – SAY TEHILLIM – that is why this posting was placed – NOT for NEGATIVE JUDGEMENTAL COMMENTS.

Stop The Hatred
Stop The Hatred

I was Shabbos in shul, and spoke to a few Bobover kids about this accident. I was horrified to learn the fact that this accident was an outcome of the lowest dirty politcics.

The story was as follows, there was an ongoing fight between a kid of Bobov 45 and this Zanger kid (l’rfueh shliemeh) belonging to Bobov 48, for the longest time. Menahlim from cheder knew about this and chose NOT to do anything. Lots of kids in that age were involved in this bitter hatred.

That night the two kids got into this massive argument, and the Bobov 45 kid chased the Zanger kid. The Zanger kid being afraid, ran for his life, and ran out on the gutter.

People here are blaming drivers for texting or being on the phone:

GUY’S, YOU ARE MISSING THE POINT!!!!!!!!!!!1

Time has come to stop this bitter hatred…

Time has come to teach our kids to love neigbohrs, no matter to which party they belong…

Time has come to stop talking these low polictics at home in front of the kids…

Time has come to show our kids, that although we picked different Rabbi’s for ourselves, we can still like people who belong on the other side…

Did we all forget that the Bies Hamikdush was destroyed because of “sinas chinum”????

What’s wrong with us?? Are we not suffering enough?? Dont we realize what klal yisroel is going thru these days???

Each and every family has their own problems and suffers with their own issues, yet we pick to be involved day and night in these machloikes, may it be named Bobov, Satmar, Toldos Aharon, Belz, Klauzenburg, VIznitz, Tush,

Cant we just make up our minds that shall stay aside????
Although these so called Rabbi’s had great forefathers, THEY are from the lowest caliber, THEY are not willing to give in on anything, THEY have embarrased chasides, and the worst of all, THEY wouldnt care for you, if you were dy’ing for hunger. Its all about power, kuved and money, and we just follow like stupid blind people.

Hashem should help that all yiden should be be’achdes and everyone should teach their kids to like other people…

stop the hatred: you are %100 percent correct. If only we all thought that way. How should children know any better if they see thier fathers doing the same. Talking about the “other” side with such hatred and venom. The Lashon Hara that goes on is terrible. The parents are to blame. All they do is train thier children to think that they are the best, there is only one way- thier way. I have a young son, and when I pass by streets that have a few shuls on the same block and see the children taunting eachother and calling eachother the worst things, I cringe in fear, hoping my child will not get swept up in this world- a world which is supposed to be so beautiful, but is so bashmutzed with sin’ah. Let us all daven for this little shefala, and daven for the future of klal yisrael, because we need all the help we can get.

Reply to #52 . While politics is despicable and fighting other peoples battles is pointless and low, let’s not miss the point here. Every single day there are near misses with kids running out onto the streets, whether chasing a ball or chasing one another and not thinking. The fact that this tragic time, the reason for the kid being in the street was bc he was fighting about politics(if the story is even true), is not the point. And btw we don’t need accidents to teach us that sinas chinum and fighting is wrong and stop using this story to teach us lessons that are not related.

By the time the child was struck, the chase had long been over.

He crossed the street like hundreds of boys in Boro Park do everyday,
they just RUN across the street without even looking.

It is a terrible tragedy that occured, something that the entire tzibur needs to do teshuva for.
