Washington – President Donald Trump is calling Amazon’s decision to drop its plans for new headquarters in New York “a big loss” for the city.

Trump tells reporters the city could have hashed out “a much better deal,” but is still bemoaning the decision.
He’s also blaming what he’s calling “radical left” thinking, which he says isn’t good for jobs or the economy.
Amazon abruptly dropped plans last week to build one of its new headquarters in Long Island City, Queens, which could have delivered 25,000 jobs.
Some politicians and activists had objected to the nearly $3 billion in incentives promised to one of the world’s richest, most powerful companies.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Friday called the reversal the “greatest tragedy” he’s seen since he’s been in government.
It’s a HUGE loss for NYC.
AOC caused NYC to lose billions in tax revenues.
I don’t these leftists were protesting huge tax breaks they were really afraid of higher rents because their mentality is that everybody “deserves” everything.
Should hardly matter to the President. Those jobs will go elsewhere in the US. It is not like he is the mayor.
When AOC attacks the tax breaks received by Amazon she is deemed a crazy liberal but when Don the Con attacks Amazon for its practices with the postal service, and tweets lies and falsehoods about Amazon, he is defended by very the same people who attack AOC.
Trump hates Amazon. He hates Wapo. He is jealous of Bezos and hates him. He only defends Amazon because he wants to score points against AOC. Don’t be fooled by this con man.
While I like Amazon, I’m against them receiving subsidized real estate tax breaks. The average homeowner, and small business winds up subsidizing this monstrosity, with their individual real estate taxes; it isn’t fair, no matter how many jobs Amazon brings to a community. Incidentally, if Amazon is so concerned about bringing American jobs to a local community, why is it that the majority of their customer service personnel are either in The Phillippines, or in the Caribbean? Aren’t American workers good enough for them?
Archy – Trump is a bald faced liar. He lies and slanders Amazon. You may disagree with AOC but she does not lie when she opposes Amazon’s deal with NYC. Trump lies when he attacks Amazon over false pretensis. The fact that you trust and believe him only shows what a successful Con Man he is. You are all riled up yet you are being conned just like the students at Trump University and the workers at Trumps defunct Casino’s, and just like Trump when confronted by uncomfortable facts you resort to blatant falsehoods like claiming that all Trump critics are the same people under different names.
