During a visit with local residents and religious leaders on Monday in Crimea, a local Jewish leader made a comment about financial difficulties.

Putin replied “So the Jews have problems with finances! Only such a thing could happen in Crimea.” He also said to the bearded ad black-hatted Jewish man in Hebrew “todah rabah,” or thank you very much.

The exchange was first reported in English in a tweet by Washington Post Moscow correspondent Anie Ferris-Rotman, who included a video of the exchange.

Also on Monday in Crimea, Putin proposed inviting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the opening of a synagogue in Sevastopol, after offering to invite Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the opening of a Crimean Mosque.

He also stated that the Jewish community of Russia was making a large contribution to the country’s development.

“I hope that Jews in Crimea will play the same positive role. Judaism is also among our traditional denominations, traditional religions, and I am very pleased that religious life is developing here, in Crimea,” the president said.

Putin is a lot better to Israel than Obama was, and is a better friend to Israel than many in the so-called Democratic Party.

When Putin was in high school, he was taking a German language course. He had fond memories of his German language teacher, who was a Russian Jew. Years later, she made aliyah to EY. When his former teacher found out that he would be visiting Israel, she contacted the Russian Embassy to tell them who she was, and to tell Putin that she remembered teaching him. When Putin was notifed, he requested a meeting with his ex-teacher, in Israel. They later met, and reminisced about old times. After the meeting, Putin found out that his former teacher was having financial problems. He personally bought her a new apartment in Israel. I don’t have to tell everyone what a nice apartment in Israel costs. His former teacher was shocked, when she found out what he did for her. Putin did not want any publicity about the matter. Now, for all of you who engage in loshon hora about Vladimir Putin, would you kindly remember that noble and generous deed, which he performed for one of our people? Thank you all, very much, and stop spreading hatred about the man.

To #21 - In this case, Putin spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in buying his elderly Jewish ex-teacher a nice apartment. How many goyim do you personally know, who would do that for a Jew? The answer is probably ZERO!
