The flight attendant is unconscious and on a respirator, according to reports. She reportedly had been vaccinated.

A passenger boarded the flight while sick with the virus, the Jerusalem Post reported.

Israel has seen a serious outbreak of measles in recent months, mostly due to low vaccination rates in the haredi Orthodox community. Two Israelis — an 18-month-old baby and an 82-year-old woman, have died from the disease.

Haredi communities in New York also have experienced measles outbreaks, and have low vaccination rates.

Disgusting, as in all probability, the person who passed the disease was not vaccinated.

Getting a booster in adulthood can be a good idea.

If you are one of those who chooses not to vaccinate without a medical indication, every bit of suffering and any deaths are on you. This is a terrible situation and sadly, completely preventable.

A person is guilty of Reckless Endangerment in the second degree when he recklessly enganges in conduct which creates a substantial risk of physical injury to another person; reckless endangerment is a class A misdemeanor under the NYS Penal Code.
Please get vaccinated or stay away from the public.

The chances of her being infected by a vaccinated person on that plane is 20%. according the the recent outbreak in Rockland 20 percent of all cases were vaccinated individuals. On a typical plane ride from NY to TLV you have 400 passengers and crew. Which means that 80 vaccinated passengers (20%) are not immune. 7 percent of the population are not vaccinated in NY according to NYS data. That would mean that there were 28 unvaccinated people on that plane. So it’s about 3 times more likely that she got the measles from a vaccinated person.
