Brooklyn, NY – Police: Suspect In Borough Park Hit And Run Has Extensive Criminal Record

Borough Park, NY – A woman being sought by the NYPD in connection with a hit and run in Borough Park that left a 14 year old girl battered and bruised appears to have a lengthy arrest record that includes her involvement in a murder that took place more than 20 years ago.

Police identified 49 year old Julia Litmonovich as a person of interest in the March 27th hit and run.

Multiple NYPD sources told VIN News that Litmonovich, who has also gone by the names Julia Litmanovich, Julia Chorney and Julia Tumanov, has over several dozen prior arrests and was arrested in 1996 in an incident in Brooklyn that left a peace officer dead, and was charged with murder, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.

The Brooklyn District Attorney’s office confirmed that Litmonovich pleaded guilty to hindering the prosecution and was sentenced to eight years in jail.

Police said that Litmonovich’s arrest record lists numerous other charges including criminal possession of a controlled substance, assault, burglary, DWI, possession of stolen property, obstruction of government administration and petit larceny, among others.

According to the NYPD, the Staten Island resident was also arrested for leaving the scene of an accident in 2007.

The NYPD released a photo of Litmanovich on Tuesday night and described her as 5’6, weighing 160 pounds and having brown hair.

She is believed to be the driver of the black Dodge Challenger that barreled into Xinyi Wang two weeks ago as she stood in the crosswalk of 47th Street and 9th Avenue on her way home from school. “When I turned around, I saw a car just moving very fast and I want to go away but I can’t,” said Wang.

The driver of the car, which had Georgia license plates, left her vehicle to ask Wang if she was okay, offering to take her home. When Wang refused the offer, the woman got back into her car. Police said that the driver of the car fled the scene when a passerby called 911.

“She said she was parking her car on the other side but she just run away,” said Wang who was treated at Maimonides Hospital for bruises on her torso and legs.
