The fatal incident took place at approximately 4:20 this afternoon on Rechov Hachoze M’Lublin.

Baruch Eisenberg was reportedly standing on the sidewalk and holding his mother’s hand when he suddenly ran out into the road where he was struck by a bus. Paramedics who raced to the scene reported that he was killed instantly.

Magen David Adom member Chaim Bernstein was the first paramedic to arrive on the scene, reported Kikar HaShabat (http://bit.ly/2ZB1nJE).

Bernstein lost a four year old daughter in a similar accident that took place in Beitar Illit three years ago and was also the first to arrive at the scene just under a year ago when a six year old boy riding a bicycle was killed on the same street.

Sources told VIN News that the Eisenbergs are Chestnut Ridge residents and that Baruch was their only son, named for his paternal grandfather who put out children’s tapes in Yiddish.

The Eisenbergs had come to Israel for Baruch’s first haircut which took place on the day before Pesach.

“The whole family was here – probably five children and they all saw it happen,” said Bernstein.

A local family ushered the Eisenbergs into their apartment immediately after the horrific accident.

“They understood what happened,” said Bernstein. “We didn’t have to tell them anything. It was horrific.”

Mrs. Eisenberg, who was pulled into the roadway with her son as he raced into the street, sustained minor injuries to her legs.

Baruch Eisenberg will be buried tonight on Har Hamenuchos, with the family returning back home after Pesach.

Israeli police have detained the bus driver for questioning.

I don’t see any reason to post a picture of the boy. What happened to the privacy of the family?
