“King Abdullah II and Jordan are strong US allies. Rumors that our peace vision includes a confederation between Jordan, Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA), or that the vision contemplates making Jordan the homeland for Palestinians, are incorrect,” he stated on Twitter.
“Please don’t spread rumors,” he added.
Trump’s so-called “Deal of the Century” peace plan for the Middle East is expected to be published in the next few months after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu establishes his coalition.
Jared Kushner, Trump’s senior advisor, on Tuesday said in an interview that the deal would be unveiled after the Muslim month of Ramadan in early June.
Multiple reports about various aspects of the plan have been published in the media, but none have been confirmed.
The PA’s leadership has out rightly rejected the plan and the US as a mediator, even before the plan’s publication.
That’s too bad; I liked that rumor.
