Brooklyn, NY - A tallis-clad robber made off with $2,000 cash in a Chol Hamoed Pesach robbery that took place in a Borough Park Yeshiva.
Police said that the incident took place on April 24th at approximately 8 PM at Yeshiva Ohel Torah Synagogue on 17th Avenue at the corner of 63rd Street when an unidentified suspect forced his way into the building through a side window.

The suspect, who was captured in surveillance photos wrapped in a tallis, is described as a Hispanic man with a medium complexion, stocky build and short black hair.  He is approximately 5’7” tall and, in addition to the tallis, was wearing a dark colored shirt, blue jeans and blue sneakers at the time of the robbery.

No one was immediately available for comment at Yeshiva Ohel Torah.  It is unclear if the side window was locked and if anyone was in the building at the time of the robbery.

I definitely did not condone that. Unfortunately for the ones that aren't religious as not keeping Shabbat is a worst crime than murder so go figure.

It’s unfortunate but as we can see from events over Pesach it could have been worse
The sad truth is ALL religious institutions need better security. It’s expensive but not as costly as Gd forbid loss of life

Unfortunately, there are non-Talis wearing bigots making stupid untruthful comments.

Probably not as many as there are former Tallis wearing thieves in or formerly of Brooklyn.
Know what I mean?

This ganiff thinks that by wearing a Tallis, that he will throw the cops off his trail. Now, if he was wearing tsittsis, then I would be concerned.

You can spot a Jew just by looking?
