Jerusalem - A Special edition Neviot water six-packs in honor of the Eurovision did not receive the ultra-Orthodox Badatz kashrus stamp, ynet reported on Monday.

The discovery came to light after customers went into a Yesh Chesed supermarket branch of Shufersal in Bnei Brak and photographed a sign by the store, which warned of the lack of the certification.

“The six-packs of Neviot are without the stamp of the Badatz of the Eda Haredit [ultra-Orthodox Kashrut sign], because of the Eurovision designs.”

Ynet reported that sources in the industry said that several packs of Neviot, which displayed the faceless Eurovision stars, were sent to the store by mistake.

“Since the branch’s customers know that Neviot water is usually under Badatz supervision, it was important for the branch to make it clear that this edition does not have such a kashrut,” it said. “This was also done on editions of the children’s water bottles, which exhibited pictures of characters such as Shrek.”

Headline is blatantly false. The water IS kosher. It's just that the certifying agency us denying use of its kashrus emblem on the bottled.

Misleading headline!!
The sign does not say "not kosher"!
It only says that the stamp is missing.

OU all others give a (Stamp) hechser on products and later admit its not kosher. Sometimes the Hechser is not authorized. At the same time some potatoes, water, bread etc has a hechser (stamp) . You have to use your seichel and rely on the Sulchan aruch. This hechser business is less than 100 years old. The Code of Jewish Law is 1000 years old. Just one example:. Bread is kosher weather has a hechser (stamp ) or not. (Try not to eat bread without hechser from Rosh Hahono till Yom Kippur)
