The New York Democrat said Monday he’s sent a letter to Federal Trade Commission Chairman Jon Leibowitz asking the agency to take action against the unsolicited calls to cell phones and land lines.
Schumer said the scams are even targeting people who are on the Do Not Call list.
Earlier this month, the FTC obtained a court order blocking “robo-calls” on auto warrantees. Schumer got the a call while debating a bill.
“Since I didn’t fall for these creeps, it was simply annoying,” Schumer said.
New Yorkers who receive one of these calls should file an official complaint through the FTC’s website, www.donotcall.gov.
these calls r annoying if they can b stoped that would b great !
I don’t really care about these calls because it gives me a chance to have some fun messing with their head.
If you do not tex message, call your carrier and ask them to block these calls, it should be no charge!!
These calls always seem to come during zman mincha and maariv and it interrupts the kavanah of those davening who have to take the time to answer and explain not to call the shul anymore.
Does this include – Heather At Account Services. They call even if you are on the do not call list. I reported them countless times but it hasn’t helped. She just keeps on calling.
