New York, NY – Nearly a quarter of the state’s population is at least giving thought to leaving New York for better conditions elsewhere, a new poll has found.

The Siena College Research Institute poll released this morning shows 11 percent of New Yorkers say they are going to move unless conditions in the state improve while another 10 percent say they would like to move out “as quickly as I can.” Only 16 percent flatly say they are never moving.

The poll found 52 percent believe the state is moving in the wrong direction, while only 33 percent say New York is going in the right direction. The rest don’t know or have no opinion.

The poll found 36 percent have no plans currently to move from the state, while 25 percent say they might move out once they retire.

Broken down by various subgroups, 18 percent of Republican and 16 percent of Latino voters say they will move if things don’t improve, while 14 percent of voters age 18 to 34 years old and 13 percent of upstate voters say they would like to move out as quickly as they could.

Those most committed to the state are Black voters, 26 percent of whom say they will never move, and New York City voters, 24 percent of whom said the Empire State will always be their home.

The poll found only 8 percent said the economy of the state is good and only 1 percent called it excellent; the rest rated it either fair or poor. Siena said the number of people claiming they are considering moving from the state is the highest since the poll began asking the question; it did not say how many years that has been.

Is it really greener on the other side of the pasture? What looks green from a far ends up being brown once you arrive and liv there for a while. The only reason to move from one place to another id because you have a better job or you will end up having better living conditions. If one is religious it could also be for chinuch otherwise the constant moving because of preception usually causes one to become bitter and uncontent.

Only the silly Frum people and mostly from Brooklyn think NY is the plcae to be.
Taxes are insane home prices are crazy. Cost of living way higher than almost anywhere else why do the Frum people insist on doing this to semeselves.

New York is a communist state. Those who work hard give half their money to the lazy bums who collect welfare and food stamps because they don’t want to work (excluding disabled people).

Here in FL, we pay some of the lowest taxes in the country, even though we have such a huge elderly population (mostly NYers who move here to suck up our tax dollars). We have no state income tax and very low property taxes. Everything is less expensive here from groceries (except kosher meats) to gasoline to clothing because they don’t tax the life out of every business here.

I believe I can speak for nearly every yid who has moved here that the grass is MOST DEFINITELY greener. We live in neighborhoods with LAWNS, private swimming pools and big, beautiful parks. We have low crime rates and very low rates of people on welfare and food stamps (we don’t just hand out money like its going out of style). We have nice weather nearly all year round. What many of you pay in rent is at least twice what I pay for my mortgage. What more do you want?

I for one visited ny and looked at the conditions that people live in boro park or even worse in wiliamsburg in getto like settings even if those sardine congested houses do cost millions (meshige). In filthy and dirty streets getting tickets as a present every second day. Vacation they call country (discussting for most europeans if you would have offered 100.000$ to go to such a place for a summer they wouldn accept it) I live and enjoy live in one of the european citys that has one of the highest quality of living (my by the way is on the 40th place globaly bellow some south american or asian citys)Free health care low tuitions for talmud torah and yeshives lots of parks and greenery extremly clean and just beautyful all around.
