Washington – Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., among the leading candidates for the Democratic presidential nomination, said a Politico story on his wealth that called him “cheap” was anti-Semitic.

“Call that what it is, an anti-Semitic article,” Sanders said in an interview with the progressive political online show, “The Young Turks.”
One of the show’s hosts, Cenk Uygur, was asking Sanders what he thought of the negative media coverage he gets and cited last week’s Politico article, prompting Sanders’ interjection. The Hill reported the exchange on Monday.
Politico drew condemnation for the article from Sanders’ fellow Democrats and from the Anti-Defamation League, and for a since-deleted tweet that said: “Bernie might still be cheap, but he’s not poor.” Politico deleted and apologized for the tweet, but did not offer an explanation.
Sanders in 2016 ran in the Democratic primary and was the first Jewish candidate to win major-party nominating contests, although he lost the nomination to Hillary Clinton.
This year, he and former Vice President Joe Biden are leading a crowded field of candidates.
there isn’t a bigger anti-Semite than Bernie – at least he’s getting his treat
Love how he now plays the victim of an alleged anti semetic attack. This guy is a complete joke. Go back to Russia or Venezuela Mr communist/socialist senator.
Playing the race card. Jewish when it may serve him. Not Jewish all other times. Creepy socialist
Mazel tov. We finally found the impetus to have Bernie rediscover his Jewishness. I feel like a sheliach!
According to anti-semites, and many goyim, no matter how secular a Jew is (he could be uncircumcised, inter-marry, eat trefe, go to church, observe Christian customs), he is still considered a Jew, and when push comes to shove, their attitudes, such as in this case, do not change.
I just read the article in Politico. There’s nothing there about Jews or Judaism or anything that could be considered anti-Semitic at all!
(In fact, the main thrust of the article seems to be that no one seems to be accusing this multi-millionaire socialist of hypocrisy. But nothing anti-Semitic.)
So Bernie walks into a bar and shouts, “Free drinks foe everyone! Who’s paying?”
What a joke! Bernie himself is an anti Semite, or rather a self hating Jew, that is if he’s really Jewish because I have strong doubts.
