“In the past, we have not been convinced that there was sufficient demand among our membership to justify the expense and possible inefficiencies associated with accepting food stamps,” CEO Jim Sinegal said in a press release. “However, we are mindful that many of our fellow citizens are facing unprecedented economic challenges at this time, and it seemed to us that it was worth reconsidering our position in that light.”
Stores in Queens and Brooklyn will start accepting food stamps as soon as they install the necessary technology, which is expected early this summer.
omg…….like the lines aint long enough now……..can u imagine wat its gonna be like then???????
but techinically if they have food stamps how can they afford the membership?
LOL
Which stores in Brooklyn and Queens? FYI membership is only $50 and shopping for a large family, you save hundreds of dollars a year which more than justifies the membership fee.
Why are you shopping there ?- you should only shop frum
1. If you are on food stamps how can you afford the membership fee?
2. Most food stamp recipients live in apartments how are they going to manage with the jumbo sizes Costco sells?
