Weiner, a Democratic congressman representing parts of Brooklyn and Queens, said he “proudly and forcefully” endorsed Thompson.

Weiner dropped out of the race last week, saying that Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s money makes it impossible to have a fair fight.
Bloomberg has spent more than $18 million on his re-election campaign since January.

But Weiner said Thompson can win because “this town loves an underdog.”

Weiner and Thompson spoke to reporters at Sunday’s Salute to Israel Parade.

Mr. weiner: your a chicken & a wimp for weasling out of this race. You were the only one that had a remote chance & u let us all down. If Thompson can win cuz “ppl love underdogs” what abt u? a front runner? then why were u afraid to run? I don’t want your opinion on who can win, ur a chicken.
