Jury selection for Lee Elbaz’s trial began Tuesday morning in Maryland. She’s one of 15 defendants charged in the case and the first to be tried. Five of them have pleaded guilty and agreed to cooperate with prosecutors.

Elbaz was CEO of an Israel-based company called Yukom Communications. She’s accused of engaging in a scheme to dupe investors through the sale and marketing of financial instruments known as “binary options.”a

A separate indictment against nine other defendants says the scheme cost investors more than $145 million worldwide.

These DIBS come to our country, and engage in fraudulent schemes against Americans; after this scam artist completes her (hopefully), long prison sentence, she must be deported, and never allowed to return. Isn’t it odd how prosecutors throw the book at a street mugger, but these “respectable” white collar criminals, who have caused far greater economic damage and pain, are somehow treated with kid gloves.

Hopefully, in prison, they’ll put her on a strict diet, in order to get rid of that excess blubber!

See the excellent article about the Binary and Forex e-trading phone scams in March 2016 Times of Israel. Its an international multi-company scam that is not regulated in Israel, so it’s spread like cancer. Many recent immigrants and charedi are used as phone scammers because they can’t find jobs in Israel. Shanda city…
