London – Report: Libya ‘paid’ Doctors to Exaggerate Bomber’s Illness

Released Lockerbie bomber Abdel Baset al-Megrahi, is seen in a hospital bed in Tripoli London – Seemingly objective medical advice used to justify the release of Lockerbie bomber Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi was actually paid for by Libya, sources say.

Al-Megrahi, 57, who has terminal prostate cancer, was released from a Scottish jail last month on compassionate grounds when a three-doctor team advised the Scottish government he had only three months to live. But the doctors delivering the opinion were paid for by the Libyan government, The Sunday Telegraph reported.

The release of al-Megrahi, the only Libyan terrorist convicted of the 1988 bombing of a Pan American jet that killed 270 people over Lockerbie, Scotland, was greeted with international condemnation. Scottish Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill granted al-Megrahi’s release based in part on the findings of the medical panel that his case qualified for compassionate grounds, which is defined as prisoner having three months or less to live.

The Sunday Telegraph said two of the three doctors provided three-month estimates, with the third also reportedly indicating that the prisoner had a short time to live — a prognosis one of the doctors said was encouraged by the Libyans.

“The figure of three months was suggested as being helpful (by the Libyans),” Dr. Karol Sikora told the newspaper.

They should be investigated & licenses revoked if found to be true.
I think the Government of Gordon Brown should call a no confedence vote already, & allow new elections. They are embarrassing the one time empire, it seems as though the sun has set on Great Britain.

How do you prove it? Just because it makes good headlines doesn’t make it the truth. On the other hand these days when patriotism is only about more money in your pocket who knows maybe it is true…

A major problem in medical halacha is the ne’emanus of the rofeh. There have been quite a few cases wherein the rofeh’s statements are suspect, and an investigation reveals that the rofeh had a vested interest in the outcome, either for financial or philosophical reasons. Buyer beware! Rabbonim need to take this into account.

I daven every day that scientists will soon discover a safe, clean, alternative energy source to replace oil. Once the world no longer needs oil to survive, all of these barbarians, from Chavez in Venezuela to that vilde chaya in Iran to the fat-bellied despots in Saudi Arabia will lose all of their power. I hope to see it in my lifetime.

But now I have rush at to believe that the fit domain is an enigma, a innocuous poser that is made terrible on our own fuming attempt to spell out it as supposing it had an underlying truth.
