New York, NY - Children of 9/11 first responders are being offered free mental health screening.  A study out of Columbia University found that one in five children of emergency workers who responded to the attacks showed symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder six months after 9/11.  As a result, any child of a first responder aged 10 to 17 is eligible for the screening and 15 free sessions of psychological counseling sessions, courtesy of the Red Cross.  If you are a first responder and want to find out if your child is eligible, you can call the Children of EMS Professionals Screening Project at (212) 543-5688
